MACEDON LADY – close 2nd to Helenus last start.

LASHED – always shaped as a staying type.

SOPRANA – racing like she needs more ground, value bet.

BULLA BORGHESE – best of the “roughies”.

How about some discussion on what people think and why rather than just a list of tips?

Very interesting race, I certainly don't think there is anything going around tomorrow as good as last years winner Magical Miss, but a nice group of fillies anyway.

Macedon Lady is certainly the horse to beat, but if there is one to beat her, I think its Lashed.

On Saturday she drew wide, sat wide all the way and came from towards to back against the pace to make ground and run a close third. On the line she was very strong, giving every indication she will get the 2500m.

On the other hand, Hierogram drew in, had the perfect run, got out when needed and just managed to win. The run of Lashed was far far better.

In tomorrows race the circumstances are reversed. Lashed has drawn in and Hierogram wide. Although Lashed will get back, she appeals as one who will relish the distance and she only needs a bit of pace on in my view. Her win under those conditions in the Adelaide Sires Produce was outstanding.

Hierogram may have to do it tougher than Saturday and meets Lashed 1.5kg's worse off at the weights.

In terms of Macedon Lady, it was a great run behind Helenus but she did have the perfect trail and looked to peak on her run. That will probably top her off nicely and she deserves to be favourite, but at $3 or shorter I would prefer to bet against her. Lashed will be around $5 and I don't think there is that much difference between them.

My tips:

Lashed
Macedon Lady
Fuji Dancer
Hierogram

No 4 - Fuji Dancer - loves this track & distance should suit. Recent runs against similar company good.

No 7 - Antique, trained by the master George Hanlon, set for this race.

No 1 - Macedon Lady - Favourite & definite chance.

No 9 - Bulla Borghese - last run extremely good, coming home late, wide and from rear.
