Racing: Banks controls nerves ahead of Magic Millions

Kristy Banks isn't yet feeling the pressure ahead of the biggest ride of her career aboard Spirit Of Boom in the A$2 million Magic Millions Classic at the Gold Coast today.

Banks will become only the second of her gender to win the 2-year-old feature if the A$5.50 second favourite Spirit Of Boom is successful.

Adelaide jockey Clare Lindop was the first with her success on Augusta Proud in 2008.

"I'm not too bad at the moment and I'm doing everything normal for the time being," Banks said.

"I'll probably start getting a little nervous in the jockeys' room before the race but I'll be right once I get on the horse and get out there."
