Ever wondered why a bookie OPENS an UNRACED horse as Fav.

I dont know the answer but for the enquiring mind its worth looking at.

Hi Darky,
I hate to sound cynical but could it be to place enough doubt in the mind of the punter so that they don't back the 'true' favourite, thus guaranteeing that bets will be 'misplaced'.

Wouldn't that also mean that the most likely winner will be overpriced against the Book maker.

Just for interest...
Unraced horses which start Fav. have the highest SR of all Fav.

Weird.
