Hi Fred.
I used AVG for many years until a techo converted me to AVAST (free). Just search and you will find it. It updates virus data bases sometimes several times a day and if your sound is on, it will tell you when it does it.
I am extremely happy with it.

the issue i have with ACG is that it is an all in one program and also slows down most systems.

I use Avast home or server edition on workstations and servers.
Never had a problem unless when prompted the user chooses to bypass warnings and then blames the antivirus
