Excel help please
Good afternoon all,
I wonder if one of our Excel wizards would be kind enough to help me out here? I'm looking at using the best two of the last three beaten margins of each horse in a race and I want to add them together automatically. That is, put sum of the contents of the lowest two of three cells in a row into a fourth cell in the same row. Is this possible? If so how? I'd appreciate any assistance, Ron Last edited by foxwood : 7th July 2011 at 03:58 PM. Reason: clarification |

Have the three margins in three columns, and use the SUM and MAX functions, eg, SUM(A1:C1)-MAX(A1:C1) . This adds all three margins and subtracts the largest leaving the sum of the smaller two, which is what you want.

Terrific Gunny72, that's good thinking. Many thanks,
Cheers Ron |
