Default The Follow a Horse system

..... surely is to find a nag and follow it.

How many of us have backed a nag we've liked, given up on it, only to see it come out and win many races at good odds.

Surely it's easier to do research and find a nag that's got decent ability and just simply back it every start no matter what. Yeah, contradictory, I've got a database, got systems ..... don't focus on that OK?

If you go through any Saturday guide and look at all the horses, there are many where you would just absolutely clean up on if you backed them every start !!! Surely, surely, it's easier to just get a couple of nags and follow them regardless. Maybe start followig them after a couple of runs ..... back them when they're entered for a class of race in town that seems to be out of their reach form wise ..... Look for a sign that the TRAINER thinks they have ability.

Instead of listing a 100 rules for a system ie; must have started within 7 days, less than 55kgs etc, etc ..... What about a selection method that picks a promising horse ???

There were stats on here, and I'm quoting from memory here, that said 7 out of 10 horses won AGAIN within 5 starts of a Metro win. So you've got a 14% chance of finding a winner if you simply back a horse that's previoulsy won a Metro start within it's previous 5 starts. The average winning price is around the $8.50 mark in Metro ..... do the maths.

Look at some of Barts winners ..... massive odds !!!!

Find a nag with some ability (preferably hidden, but given a clue from the trainer) and follow it .....

This system will eliminate frustration, data collection and analysis, and WILL incorporate all the VAGURIES of racing, and take into account luck ..... both good and bad. It will also teach discipline which many of us lack !!!

Oh so true. I backed Mid Summer Music in the Doomben 10000 because is had second place % ranking. It ran 9th. A fortnight later in the Stradbroke it had 4th ranking and I did not back it. It won at $28.90 on tattsbet.

I looked at MSM as well i just didn't think it had the class to win considering what it had done before.
