Home Track Advantage?
If a horse is trained at a track and then races on that same track, is that an advantage? You know: familiar faces, scenery, close to the stable, no travelling involved etc....lol
Well I took a little over two years results and randomly picked a handful of tracks. The results are interesting: Sometimes the Home track improves Strike Rate, but not POT e.g. Geelong Synthetic Sometimes the Home Track is of no advantage, from a Strike Rate point of view, but POT improves e.g. Ballarat, Caloundra & Gosford Sometimes The Home track improves the Strike Rate and POT e.g Albury Then I applied a price filter, and only considered odds/on selections. That places a different dynamic on the whole thing, and drives home the point that there is a reason that every horse wins or loses, just a matter of finding which combination of filters? |
