Hi

Writing about books the name Rem Plante came back into my head.

His 1969 book Australian Horse Racing and Punters' Guide is a classic. This was before Scott's first book was published.

In 1977 Scott William's book Can Punting Pay did a profit analysis of Plante's method and it was still profitable.

I know Plante published a weekly called "Handicapper's Weight Chart".

What ever happened to Mr Plante?

Hi Laurence!
If you go to http://www.trb.com.au you will see that Mr. Plante's son now runs the show.

La Mer: And the Handicapping Weight Charts, known as the 'sheet's, are still being published.

Lawrence, Rem Plante passed away several years ago and his ratings were now done by Marcel Plante, but I have not heard about them for years. An old friend of mine rang Rem Plante on a weekly basis about 35 years ago and said he was an absolute genius.

Hi Laurence

Rem's son Marcel is indeed a partner of TRB (formed from the business originally started by Rem.) The weight rating charts are still published weekly for clients...many of them have been subscribers for 10+ years.

The Form Line ratings are now contained within TRB's GTSi software program, which you can get details from their site.
