Excel help
Just after some help with excel, have a problem where it wont recognise numbers from copied/pasted data.
I am trying to copy the race results table from racing and sports results in to excel to run some basic calcs on. Race 1 for example http://www.racingandsports.com.au/e.../15-10-2016/all However the dividends under the NSW/VIC/UNI/BF it wont recognise and allow me to add them up at the bottom, or perform any calcs on. The prices in the SP column work fine though. Any one come across this before? Have tried a google search, but the simple solutions found there dont seem to help at all. |

The data is pasted as text, instead of a number. You'll have to convert it before you can perform arithmetic operations.
If the data you want is in column K you could, for example, post this formula in cell Q1 and then fill it down the page: Code:

Simplest way i have found is just to add zero like this, if your text was in cell AI in cell B1 you would have 0+A1 the Zero can also be added to any other formula you may have.

Excel help
Simple...copy the table you need from R&S. Pasting by using the Edit menu or simple Ctrl+V pastes it as HTML. Instead you need to paste it as text.
Switch to Excel...right click on the worksheet, click on Paste Special, select the Text option. ballybeg Last edited by ballybeg : 20th October 2016 at 04:29 PM. |
