Oh Boy, looking forward to the post here.

I'll just get my dart Board out and make my [informed] selections!

Cheers Umrum.

The Cups and the Cox:

My Monkeys [trained] have thrown the Darts:

Beekeeper from the godolphin stable and Grey Song if it's wet. Hugs Dancer [stay all day with any weight] and Jardines Lookout it seems according to the monkeys [trained] and from the Shiek Hamdan, Mubtaker is a date.
Oarsman will be madly paddling over from Kiwi shores and is the one to watch from there.

Clangalang for the Cox as it's his distance and he will go the Melb. way round.
Forget Media Puzzle in the Cup as he missed his come back cue with a cough I hear [poor boy] and has gone to pot according to the Monkeys [trained].

The Northern raider Piachy and from the city of churches watch out for Pillage n' Plunder and Maze from the Kiwi for the Caufield.

Cheers.

My early thoughts:

Melbourne Cup

- Beekeeper
- Pentastic

Caulfield Cup

- Clangalang

Cox Plate

- Private Steer

Now let's see if I have jinxed all the above just like I did with Platinum Scissors last year.

Cheers

i think a certain bookmaker/trainer combination had more to do with it than you tipping it. i think it would have one the derby as helenus didnt run it out very strong.

Umrum,

One of the Monkeys [resposible for typing] has been given a decent thrashing and has removed Backstreet Boy from the list. Too much peanutcoala for him the other night!

As for the rest of their selections? ...I just train the Monkeys and serve the peanutcola.

Cheers.

Umrum,

Did you check the sectionals in the derby last year? They walked and then came home in 33.77. So perhaps it wasn't a staying test, more sit and sprint, but it would be hard to say he struggled at the distance as if he was really that tired he could not get home that quickly. Note that this does not necessarily mean he will get a strong 2400/3200 in a more truely run race.
