Sunday Lottery Races
Anyone else find Sundays are an absolute lottery when it comes to racing?
I have a few systems which show great consistent results Monday through to Saturday at non metro meetings, but then Sundays, I would be better do the opposite, its a large sample as well, all days 1000+ results apart from Monday, so not sure I can put it down to just variance. Is there anything in particular about the races scheduled that may explain this? Anyone have any theories? |

can't give you any answers there Thorns , but I find Tuesdays and Thursdays equally erratic, i.e not all the time but enough to make me ponder!

I found this as well, others have said it's their second best day!
I think it could come down to the jockeys over exerting themselves on the Saturday where the prizemoney is greater, and then coming back Sunday and feeling it over the concluding stages. Imagine the physical toll some jockeys put themselves under riding trackwork in the morning and then racing in the afternoon, some seven days a week. Also weight comes into it, many jockeys waste to make the weight for a Saturday, and the physical exertion would surely impact on the Sunday.

Its about the only thing I could come up with as well, everyone is over the week by Sunday and is posting it in to a certain extent. I know I would hate having to work Sundays. Not a big deal, I'm happy to keep my sanity and leave Sundays alone. |

Just had a quick look at my best days in order of percentage profit:
Tuesday Thursday Friday Sunday Monday Saturday Wednesday So Tuesday is my best day and Wednesday is my worst. Sunday is in the middle. If you find Sundays don't work for you then just leave them out until the results tell you otherwise. It could also be that the professional punters put more effort into a Saturday and then on a Sunday they tend to get a few things wrong due to overworking on Saturday which can affect the odds. I also like the jockey theory posted by CP. I suspect Saturday and Wednesday are lowest for me as professionals would be getting the odds right on these days and my edge is smaller. |
