hi guys and gals,
below is a series of place results from 12 race meetings. if you had bet 1 unit on each race you would be a couple of units up.
of the 12 meetings 9 were in profit if you bet on each race that day.

I am looking for interesting ideas or techniques that I might not have thought of...

can you suggest any techniques for maximising the return from this series of bets - any method is welcome and the staking plan doesnt have to involve all bets, it can involve a stop mechanism. Im curious to see what the gurus of the group can come up with - and by how much the flat stakes betting profit could be increased.

thanks in advance for your input....
all prices are in cents - so 110 =$1.10
the SR for this set of numbers is 74% and the profit was 2.6 units

day 1 x/140/110/150/110/170/140/x/120/120
day 2 120/140/110/170/x/230/x/x/150/170
day 3 110/170/110/110/150/110/x/x/140
day 4 190/x/x/130/190/x/110/x
day 5 x/x/110/x/140/x/x/210
day6 110/x/110/120/x/120/120/x/x/210
day 7 150/110/110/150/110/160/x/140/110/x
day 8 110/120/110/170/x/110/170/160/110/170
day 9 120/110/110/130/110/130/190/140/150 /160
day 10 140/150/150/x/130
day 11 110/110/x/140/140/140
day 12 160/130/140/x/170/120/x/190
hopefully someone will like to play around with this

see ya

Hi
I believe Don Scott and others have shown that TAB place odds are about 1/5 of straight out odds as distinct from the 1/4 odds bookies use for each way. I just feel that betting for the place on the TAB is way under the odds and it would be difficult to show any long term profit. Further the TAB rounds down their dividend making the underlay worse.

Every Topic,

Tried to post a sheet here but it wouldn't work.

Basically, start with a bank and bet 10% of bank on first selection.
If it wins include half the profit in the next bet and so on.
If it loses keep betting level stakes until you get a winner, then increase.

I came out with $468 profit on $1,000 starting bank with 3.66% POT.

g'day CP - nice work, you nearly doubled the profit.Go up .1 unit with the wins and go back to 1 unit with the losses.

but now lets get serious - how the hell did you post your spreadsheet page into the forum ?!?!?!?!

that was a real nifty trick

Sorry ET it spat the dummy and distorted the whole forum page so had to delete it.

Too much information contained in it was too much for the forum too handle.

You get that cool utility from mrexcel.com.

It's great but only for say 10 lines of information.
