I have an idea for a System (who doesn't) but need the data to test and prove/disprove my theory.

Here are the RACE QUALIFYING RULES

1) All tracks throughout Australia
2) Metropolitan Races only (inc public holidays, Sundays etc)
3) The race distance is between 999m and 1999m
4) The race contains more than 9 runners but not more than 15 runners (check scratchings)
5) The Class of Race is Open 3yo races (genuinely Open races – those not restricted by number of wins in the past year etc), Open Handicaps, Welters, and stakes races. Races that are restricted by sex are also excluded. So I would bet on the Rosehill Guineas for instance (an Open 3yo race), but not the Coolmore Classic (restricted to Fillies and Mares)
6) All runners in the field have started with the last 28 days and they have had at least two runs in the last 56 days. Basically I want the whole field to have had at least two runs in since a spell and have run recently so their form is exposed and fitness assured somewhat.
7) All runners in the field have had at least 2 previous race starts – This is just to take out races where one of the runners is having their second lifetime start and in hindsight prove unworthy of my money.

I can hear a few people already shouting that this is a fairly restrictive system to start with but you have got to understand that it is a function of lifestyle also. I’m not a big punter, just someone who follows the races a bit and would like to have a bet maybe once or twice a week with a solid system. I figure that the race selection above would restrict me to about 70-80 suitable races a year, which is fine by me.

Going back over some really old Sportsmans I found two races that would qualify to give you an idea of the races that I am talking about and to make sure that you are picking up the right races. On the 8th of November 2001 the Four ‘n’ Twenty Stakes (R7 @ Flemington) won by Mr Trickster was one race and a week later on the 17th of November the Sandown Guineas (R7 @ Sandown) won by Moon Dragon would both be qualifying races.

Now, the information that I require…..

For each horse in the qualifying race

· Tab No
· Name
· Barrier
· Days since last start
· Win %
· Place %
· Last Start Finish Position
· Last Start Beaten Margin

That’s all the info I need (I think) as I will get the TAB Divs off the relevant Web Sites. Oh, this information would need to be current as the horses went into the barriers. i.e I want Mr Trickster’s Win % as he went in to run in the Four 7 Twenty…not what it is today.

If some one can supply me with the data that I need for all the qualifying races in a suitable format, for as far back as their system allows, I would be willing to pay them for it and their time in getting it out of their computer!

Thanks

Parkside,

You can contact me at RaceStats at hotmail dot com.

I don't need any money to help you out.
Perhaps we can swap some info, I can send you an excel spreadsheet with the information you want or at least 95% of it.
