Are any others on the forum who follow this incredibly talented jockey, and perhaps share my high opinion of same? I think he is the best rider in Australia. I guess that's a big statement to make with the likes of Beadman,Oliver,Prebble&co,and I guess I will get some flack over it,so to clarify it's my opinion only.Prebble is too hot & cold for me.Oliver is brilliant, but doesn't seem to win many races outside Melbourne. His Sydney record is not real flash. Also because of the high profile oliver & beadman have they get all the cream rides from the leading trainers.I know that Corey gets a lot of rides from the Hawkes stable, but wouldn't it be fair to say that when Darren is in town Corey only gets his rejects? It's common knowledge how critical Hawkes can be of jockeys,so the mere fact that he has no hesitation using Corey speaks volumes about his ability.Five winners last Saturday.I rest my case.

yeh absolutely with you. but he does perform better with beadman away, and i dont really think any jockey is as good outside of their home state.

having said that id like to add glenn boss to your list, hes right up there with oliver, beadman, brown and id throw in paul harvey and noel callow(even know i bagged him after the railway)

G.Boss is an altime great. Tries every time and certainly isnt scared.

Oliver - sheer class and horsemanship combined with brains.

G.Childs- great hands and strong rider.

C.Munce - when he's hot he's real hot but when he's not he can chop em up.

C. Brown- brillant rider, doesn't matter what he's on has a crack.

B.Prebble - you can count on him at the finish.

P.Harvey - best jock in the land.

Agree with you that Paul Harvey is the best Jockey in Australia, my personal opinion of course. Give him a reasonable Race Horse and he will get it over the line.

I actually focus on races where Paul Harvey is riding something I don't consider to be in the top 3 or 4 chances - increases my chances of getting good value. He's a good jock but a lot of his success is due (IMO) to good management.

that helps but he is a genius. If you get the chance watch his last ride on ambers halo. No other jock in the country would have got it home. I used to do the same hat and coat and I'm not scared to back against him but after watching him lift so many over the line I now back him regularly. Has helped my bottom line tremendously.

I totally agree with INTERGAZE about Zac Purton & Michael Rodd, and i also think highly of Craig Newitt, especially in the wet.
