Hi all
Do you think that Jockeys have a bet/bets on there mounts, every race or selected races? or do they just take the wage for each run they do? Some jockeys i see only have one race per meeting so that might be the only ride for the week, how can they live on such small money. Does anyone know how much they get for a ride on different days of the week? If they do track work i guess they get paid? Do they... If someone has any idea post a response. The last time i heared they get about $60 a ride at city tracks plus 5% of the prize money....i would think the best jocks get a bigger % of the prizemoney....not to many would have 1 ride for the week...if you see one with 1 ride for the day they might be country or provinctial jocks getting a city ride as for track work i think apprentacess do it as part of thier training but full jocks get paid....i know apprentacess don't get thier winning prizemoney untill they finish thier aprentaship they just get a wage
