Alinghi is the horse to beat in the $3 million Golden Slipper at Rosehill on Saturday.

The Lee-Freedman trained filly who is currently at $2.15 on Sportsbet, will jump from barrier 11 in Australia’s premiere race for two year olds, a gate all the connections of the horse have expressed satisfaction with.

Damien Oliver will ride Alinghi in a bid for his first Golden Slipper and he will be feeling confident as Alinghi is undefeated.

Alinghi’s favouritism, however, isn’t worrying Gai Waterhouse too much.

Waterhouse has two strong runners in the field - Dance Hero at $5.50 and Wager at $16.00, who have drawn barriers two and four respectively.

Dance Hero is considered the more likely to win of the two having run the fastest time of all the males in the field.

But history is against the gelding and in Alinghi’s favour as fillies have won the last four Slippers.

Other runners tipped to figure in the placings include Charge Forward (5), Crimson Reign (15), John Hawkes’ Dane Shadow (1) and Ballybleue (8).
