Yesterday was a losing day. Six selections for three placings including two winners. Last week there were nine selections for six placings including three winners. The return for place betting was $7.40, and $5.50 for the win.
Overall, there have been 35 selections for 30 placings including 22 winners. The return on place betting was $37.90, and $44.80 for win betting. Hopefully, last week was the exception and not the norm.

Yesterday I could not get into the forum to list Tabcorp's selections - was there a problem with the website, or maybe it was my computer... There were five selections for three placings including one winner. Place betting returned $4.20, and $2.00 for the win. After 12 races with the system, only place betting is showing a profit.

There are no Unitab selections today. Tabcorp hasn't given any ratings for today.

I have applied a strike-rate rule to my system which has vastly improved it. Having said that, it will now crash. Today's selections are:
Mudgee R6 no.5 - Covet Minnie - Place only.
Seymour R8 no.1 - Lad Of The Manor - Each Way
Seymour R9 no.2 - Bedi - Place only.

Congratulations michaelg on your selections for today which, as you would know, all won. Congratulations as well for the success of your Unitab system. I think I've worked out your Unitab system from studying your postings back to when you first started posting your tips and the info you gave on it. Unless I've made a mistake, there seems to be only one selection for tomorrow, at Gundagai. I found one at Yarra Glen, but it's only 1180 metres. If I'm correct, the race has to be at least 1200 metres. I won't post the name of the horse/s here because I don't want to steal your thunder. I think I also read that they also have to be in the top 3 pre-post favourites, so I guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if it is still a contender.
P.S. This is my first posting but I will be watching your input as well as that of the other contributors daily.
Keep up the good work michaelg and good punting.

Hi, Rebeccian. Welcome to the forum.

Yes, my system yesterday performed quite well. Any selection with a win strike rate of 50%-plus are Each-Way bets. Yesterday, the two place-only bets had a win strike rate of 40%. My test period did not have any selections with strike rates between 40 and 50%, so I decided on a minimum of 50% for win bets. But I'm monitoring those between 40 and 50%, for they might prove to be profitable.

The Unitab system has no rules for the distance of the race. I have previously posted the rules here, which have since been removed. If you wish I can re-list them. However after Saturday's poor results, the system might eventually prove to be a failure. I'm also recording the identical system with Tabcorp.

Hello Michael,
Thanks for the reply and for the welcome to the forum. Thanks for the info on your system. I'll have to take a close look at horses in that range when trying to work out a system of my own. If I ever do come up with a successful system I'll post it for you and anybodyelse to check it out.
The 2 Unitab selections you posted today are the 2 I found last night when I checked the Unitab ratings. Sure you had a bad day using Unitab on Saturday but all we can do is keep our faith in the guys who do the ratings and in your Unitab system.
That rule about a minimum of 1200 metres I must have read in another system.
Thanks also to Merriguy for the link back to the rules and for welcoming me to the forum.
I've saved the rules and will print them out tonight.
Meanwhile, I will have to make some bets and then get back to work soon.
Thanks againg guys.

Hi Rebeccian,

That was maybe one of my systems. I use a minimum of 1200 in some of mine.

Thanks sportznut.
Yes, it may have been your outside barrier system. I've had a look at some of the many postings on that system. I can't quite get my head around it as yet. I think I'll print out all the pages one day soon and then have a good look at it and then perhaps have a go at using it. Perhaps within a couple of weeks.
For the timebeing, I'll keep an eye on michaelg's postings. His Unitab system's starting to fail a bit but, like all systems, I think that it will have a good run again.
Today I had only one bet because I had to get back to work on my courier run. I chose the only winner, "The Name's Bond", fortunately, because it was chosen by both the Unitab and Tabcorp systems, plus the fact that it was a 6 pointer, and the fact that it won it's previous race by 5 lengths. I was a bit worried, though, when I listened to the race whilst I was driving around on my courier run because the horse stayed at the back of the field for most of the race.

If you have any questions about the Outside Barrier Specials, I'd be happy to help.

Thanks sportznut for your offer of help. I'll look at all the notes on the 17 pages within the next couple of weeks, hopefully even within the next few days, and ask you any questions I have then.
