One selection for the Unitab System:

Townsville R6 no.4 - Snip n Sea.

If it wins it will be the fifth successive winner.

No selections for the other systems.

Odds on and out of a place

Still in front, that's the main thing.

Hi, Unlucky phil.

I listened to the race, and the race-caller did not say why it failed except "forget that it ever went around" For an odds-on favourite, you would expect at least some comment why it flopped so badly.

Hi MichaelG,
Just out of curiosity, I was wandering if Townsville should have been ruled out for the day since the track was listed as Dead?
Have a good one.

Hi, Silversand.

Dead tracks are allowed in the system, but not Slow or Heavy. I am monitoring these seperately, also Maiden races. There have been two Slow/Heavy selections for two placegetters with one winner. And with the Tabltd system, there have also been two selections for two placegetters with one winner. Maybe the people who calculate Unitab and Tabltd ratings do factor the condition of the track into their calcs? Sometimes the Unitab ratings are posted on their website the day before the race - in such cases it would seem a little puzzling how they would know the condition of the track for the following day if they do really take into account rain-affected tracks. Anyway, time will tell if these races are worthwile
