Hey guys,

I'm pretty new to the horse racing scenario and i was just wondering how you guys bet when you have a day at the track?

Also, i have set myself about $70 for betting and don't like putting huge bets on, what type of bets would you recommend for myself?

Regards

Nashy

As a new comer I'd recommend staying away from exotics or multiples bets such as Trifectas, Quaddies, Running Doubles etc until you are more confident. I'd also look at the old adage "tip to win but bet to place" which means that you should place bet only, or bet to win 1 unit and to place with 3 units thereby "covering" your bet to a degree.

Its easier to give advice than to follow too, but all the best and hope you tip a winner to three

Good advice mate, i checked out some of the place systems after you posted that reply and by going by some radio tab tips and past form i managed to get 3 out of 3 placings. It looks like ill be leaning towards the place bets tomorrow rather than each way betting equal amounts for win and place.

Thanks mate
