Got a tip today from a bloke at work into greyhounds. Normally dosen't give too many tips but his was albion park race 5 no 5 Devine Gem. Just something to look at? Rest assured if it dosen't win I won't be tipping dogs again.

If at first you dont succeed try try again.... this dog looks to be pretty short in the totes. Hope it eases out a little.

Only got my money running in Unitab so will be a guess until a bit later. Hoping to get $3-$4?

Devine Gem was another "false favourite" because of the box draw - The four dog was a wide runner so you didn't want to be drawn in the five.

You have to know the dogs racing pattern - otherwise you are only ever "guessing'.

So then how many states do you pay attention to?? I only do Vic races.

I don't do Albion Park but just watched the races there last night. I did not know about the wide runner in Box four before the race. I'm just saying that anyone who is serious about making money on dogs should at the very least know what each dog in the race does. Dogs are creatures of habit and the majority of dogs have the same racing pattern every start - there are some exceptions but by and large a wide runner will always be a wide runner and a railer will always be a railer etc etc.
I do Angle Park and Gawler in SA and cureently do Casino and Lismore in NSW. That gives me five meetings per week which is plenty. It generates enough turnover so that my long term POT of 15% provides a very nice earn.

Great. Thats how I like to judge the dogs too. Do you have a database where you write down each dogs pattern and give them rating for early speed, middle, finishing power.... and whether they struck trouble and for what reason.
If you look at the Vic Greyhound topic, I posted a few dogs which had a chance next start. And I was pretty happy when a dog paid $20.70 :grin: It makes a real difference knowing whether the dog is just a dud or unlucky and just needs that little bit of luck to win.
I am currently in the process of reviewing from Geelong 5/11 to last night. I have been selecting dogs to follow. But as you said, hope to have a race where i know each dogs habbit.
