Question

Funny, with systems you usually follow a set of rules, but with your barrier system, i would guess you follow maybe 1-3 particular ones with some other filters, yet Appian Way is from the very outside, while Louie's Backyard is in barrier 1? How can you call it a system if the main criteria can change so much?

Maybe i'm missing something (very likely), or you have a strange set of rules ;-)

Chuck,

These systems are actually groups of smaller systems combined together. The 'Barrier System' is in fact a few different systems, some concentrating on the inside barrier and some on the outside barrier. Some parts of these systems are purely experimental, so please be careful if you follow them.

Why don't you call it "Barrier Systems:". Sorry for being so picky, i like things to be perfect a lot of the time so you can excuse my behaviour

Thumbs down

Chuck,

If the results continue as they are at the moment, this trial will last one day.

Anyway, I'll explain in a bit more detail later which of these systems I'm favouring and which ones I think I'll be mainly concentrate on.

For starters, I'll probably ditch the Maiden System on Saturdays. It's been going well on other days of the week (a $21 winner yesterday), but I'm not sure about Saturdays.

And as for R5 in Sydney, well I thought I had too many selections for the barrier system, so I changed one of the rules to make it a bit more restrictive. As a result, Navaho Princess was deleted. Isn't it amazing how you always know what you should have done AFTER the races.

Well, I think I'll be dropping the Top Form system or at least refining it somehow. The results for that plan were DISGRACEFUL today.

The ones I mainly concentrate on are the Unitab Ratings System and the Barrier System. As I said earlier, I stupidly decided to make a rule change to cut down on selections for the Barrier System today and that cost me two GREAT winners from 4 selections (Flem 1-6 Our Orpen $16.80 and Rand 5-5 Navaho Princess $12.10). I also accidentally omitted Flem R6-13 Savage Attack from the Unitab System selections and it paid $5 for the place.

The Tipsters System has produced nearly 100% profit over the last 5 months, so I hope it's not going to fall in a hole now. The Maiden System has also been working well, but I may have to consider not using it on Saturdays.

TOP FORM SYSTEM:
Flem 2-4 Redhot Edge
Flem 3-5 El Man Goss * PLA 1.80
Flem 5-9 Porto Douro
Flem 6-7 Smart And Mighty
Flem 9-15 Phoenix Express * PLA 2.20
Ascot 8-11 Just A Kiseki
Ascot 8-17 Universal Warrior
Ascot 9-4 Solar Impact *

BARRIER SYSTEM:
Doom 6-4 Celtic Trial *
Rand 7-6 Thundarosa
Flem 3-1 Appian Way
Flem 5-5 Louie's Backyard
Flem 5-9 Porto Douro
Flem 8-6 Beaujolais Prince WON 10.80/3.60
Flem 6-1 Super Impressive WON 9.20/2.70
Flem 9-5 Lancaster Gold
Morp 2-8 Lotto Rock * PLA 1.90
Ascot 3-1 Urastat

UNITAB RATING SYSTEM:
Flem 3-5 El Man Goss * PLA 1.80
Flem 4-1 Catscan * WON 2.00/1.30
Flem 8-6 Beaujolais Prince WON 10.80/3.60
Flem 9-15 Phoenix Express * PLA 2.20
Morp 2-8 Lotto Rock * PLA 1.90
Ascot 4-9 Stormy Nova * WON 2.00/1.20

TIPSTERS SYSTEM:
Rand 6-6 Resistor *

MAIDEN SYSTEM:
GCst 3-5 Street Music *
Bairn 2-9 Patricia Clare

what has form got to do with racing anyway.
but seriously hidden in each race are horses with good form and it makes this task very difficult.
statistically it looks easy but the drag between results makes it too hard for punters. i guess thats why its called gambling.
we are trying to take gambling out of gambling.

Yep. Very true and it doesn't help when you're careless and don't look closely enough when doing the selections. Mornington R3-8 Portline ($26.30) was actually a selection for the Maiden System today, but I missed it.
