Default Filante Ratings - Canterbury - 6/1/05

My ratings for Canterbury this evening follow. Track rated good.

RACE 1

No ratings with two unraced chances - 8. Madisons Party and 4. Speedy Duke - likely to fight it out with 7. Beau Covet and 9. China Jade.

RACE 2

No ratings. Again two unraced - 2. In Top Class and 3. Ravisseur - to fight it out with 4. Biscayne Bay and 6. Whistling Bob.

Like Fine Perception and Tiz Maizing too, but might struggle to get those odds with Beadman on.

Don't bet too short - it is a Canterbury night meeting!

Fine Perception probably will get a bit short - if so I'm prepared to lay it with three other good chances in the race ridden by top jockeys.

In the last 1.Quatz De Matta has genuine claims, having just gone down to Afraah last start. You may recall on Boxing Day, at Afraah's next start, the bookies let her drift out to $3 from $2 but she still killed 'em. Depending on the bookies' view of that form, and the guesswork on the step up to 1900m, it is conceivable that Quatz De Matta could start favourite.

Additionally, the mounts of Munce, J Cassidy, L Cassidy and Brown have claims (mainly based on those jockeys riding those horses!).

Yep, Fine Perception was WAY too short so left that alone and once it went down, decided to back Beadman's rides each-way in R5 & 6.

3 value winners from the 5 rated races, being:

Race 3 No.2 Lorne Valley $4.6 (assessed $3.9)
Race 5 No.6 See the Bell $5.0 (assessed $3.9)
Race 7 No.3 Tis Maizing $2.5 (assessed $2.4)

Only one best bet from four won being Tis Maizing.

Well, I decided to take the short odds on Tis Maizing, because I love following Beadman in the last.
