We all know the TAB likes to get involved with novalty ideas as a means to increase revenue turnover .
Heres an idea that has me puzzled why it hase`nt been tried, that is ,selcting the winner for E.G. 1st race in all 4 states of say Syd,Mel,Bris,Adl.
Then do the same for the remaining race numbers.
They could trial it on certain race numbers to see if there is an interest. The pools could be substantial & the dividends incredable.E.G. 4 horses with an average div.of only $4.00 getting up could pay approx. $256 for $1.00 (Ahh! greed is good)
You would`nt have to wait half a day to know the result like you have to with current TAB Doubles .
It allows the punter more time to re-invest more quickly more often. Which is what the TAB is all about ,turnover I thought.
It would create more interest in races in other states where certain punters normally would`nt bet.
I`m sure they have thought about it, with the huge salaries that these guys get paid & I`m sure they must of come up with a million excuses to match the dollars they get paid not to do anything about it.

Then again I could be wrong.
They could be worth the money they get paid.

Bhagwan, You can select the winner (or placegetter) in a number of races in the one meeting using Allup betting. I believe the reason why this has not been extended to selecting winners in different meetings is probably:
1. Lack of punter interest in the existing Allup product.
2. Technical problems with working out investment amounts if dividend from first race has not been declared before 2nd race starts (eg. punter bets on BR1 and SR1 - selection in BR1 wins but there is a protest which is not resolved when SR1 is run - do you include the winnings in the pool for SR1 or not?)

Bhagwan,
The reason the NSWTAB wouldn't like this type of bet is that rather than take 4 lots of 14.25% from the win pools in question they could only take one cut of say 18 or 20% or whatever they decided to skim. It's the same reason they will never bring a quaddy to NSW.
They like the all-ups because your wins are being slashed by 14.25% each leg. The cumulative effect of this is horrific. No-one should ever bet all-up or parlay on the TAB. It is a gross waste of money and value.

I think there are too many bet types anyway.
Any new addition tends to affect pools on established bet types. Flexibetting was an attempt to drain every last cent from punters- the one cent poker machine for horse players. First four pools are ordinary except in major races. Superfectas are a major joke. Don't know why they're retained.
