racing colours
Suppose I'm out somewhere, lookup and see a race in progress on a TV monitor. Then I note an outstanding unplaced run!
The only info I can get aside from the silk colours is (if I'm quick) the venue, and either race # and/or time. The next day I can buy either todays or yesterdays newspaper and can see all the runners for that race but usually not the colours. Is there somewhere I can say this is the 'horse name' what are it's (usual) colours? |

My dad races trotters.... He has his own colors registered and every horse he sends out uses these colors.. This would suggest to me that a horse will wear its owners colors, so I would imagine that it will always wear the same (unless it gets sold...)
I can't help you more than that but, I would suggest that there would be a list somewhere of colors and who they are registered to. I would imagine though, that it would be very hard to give an accurate description of the colors with enough certainty to track the owners down if you only get a glimpse of the race... |

Thanks for the reply BJ and I agree there must be a list somewhere.
In my case I saw a race, remembered the horse run and its colors but without sound etc it was hard to determine horse name. I bought the paper next day and going on the placings I have narrowed the horse to one of 5 names! Anyway I've since learned that if you have bigpond broadband you can get video replays. Problem will be solved and nag's name known after I visit my brothers place. |

If you're in Victoria then the formguides on the wall in front of you at the time (again, from RSB) also have the colours.
If you're in QLD, well, nevermind.... Duritz. ;P |

come to think of it... Now kiddies let's make this simple. To solve our problem we will work in reverse. Your homework is this: Who can tell me the usual racing colours of the race HORSE called 'Pride of Midnight'? You need to give web links to prove your answer. extra marks for neatness |
