Default COLAC

This is a thread for the Colac races today. First of all, I don't think I've ever done the form for Colac before. Can anyone tell me what it's like, what kind of runners it suits, etc? The OZEFORM track map helped slightly, but only slightly.

Gday Duritz,

below are the track record times for Colac..

1000m 00:57.0
1100m 01:03.2
1200m 01:10.1
1600m 01:36.6
2000m 02:01.5
2700m 03:12.0

Looking at the map I make the following assumptions.

Barriers become important in 1400 and 1600m races. There is a short run to the first turn.. 1000 and 1100 m races start in the back straight with one long turn to the 350 m straight... 1200m Races start in a shute off the back straight.

The track is 140m with a 350 m stráight

I hope that helps a bit

Yeah ta.... I've done my own form for a couple of races, I'll post those now, and I'll also post my automated ratings for the next.

race 6 3.20
seln mgn price name
1 0.0 $3.7 RULING EYES
8 0.7 $5.3 MANY ARE CALLED
7 1.7 $10.4 ALEXANDERS MAGIC
10 1.8 $11.9 NO HIGH NO SONG
4 2.3 $19.6 TRANSFERRAL
9 2.7 $32.2 BABE ZAHARIAS
13 2.9 $38.9 BATTLE SONG
14 3.7 $85.5 BENEVOLE

race 7 3.55
seln mgn price name
8 0.0 $5.1 BELLASTORM
7 0.0 $5.2 PRINCESS OF OZ
6 0.7 $7.5 GOLDEN NOTES
3 1.4 $11.7 UMATILLY
1 1.5 $12.5 ROCOTTO
9 2.2 $25.2 FENTON
4 2.4 $29.8 KUNIYA
5 2.4 $30.2 REDINESS

Those were done by me, the following just by the computer

race 2 12.56
seln mgn price name
14 0.0 $1.5 WHITTIER MISS
8 3.7 $34.0 CYAR
13 15.6 $145.4 SQUARE DANCER

Computer clearly likes the 14 in the next.... I think the computer has just left to get down to the TAB to back it, because it's $14 on the tote! Wouldn't take much notice of ratings in a race like this though.

By 'over the line job' I mean one of those horses they've been hiding away and setting for a huge plunge on a country track and it goes out and wins as easily as anything. If you knew exactly how good it was, $1.70 would be brilliant!

Computer has tail b/w legs, and just borrowed some money off me so it can bet in the next. It has come up with this:

race 3 1.32
seln mgn price name
7 0.0 $1.7 MISS PUGIN
2 2.4 $9.8 CROWN APPEAL
3 3.2 $26.3 SWING SHIFT
13 13.7 $165.2 JEUNEBETE

And it is very confident about getting it's money back. Mind you, it had a manic glint in it's eye, and it took a quick shot of scotch. I think it's chasing it's losses.
