Consider only the top-rated horse in a field of eight or more runners, provided it is at $3 or over.
The recommended staking plan is to back the horse each way for the amount totalling 1/20th of the current bank. For example, if you had a $100 bank, 1/20th of the bank would be $5, so you would bet $2.50 each way.
