![]() Sportingbet: =WIN ONLY, place is at Unitab, and also have a 100-1 limit on win bets, i.e. even if you back a long shot that pays 200-1, they will pay you only 100-1. My advice is DO NOT BET WITH ANY OUTFIT THAT IMPOSES A LIMIT.
Sportsbet, Pays best of 3 win or PLACE on city tracks, but only best of NSW or Supertab on Country meetings, they also consider Perth as Country???? I'm told that Centerbet offers best of 3 as well, but have no knowledge of that one, but must be worth a look! |

![]() I agree that $100 limit is a bit rough but how many of us can say we back horses paying that and more on a regular basis....except for the PPM.....and as far as why bother with best price....next time you back a horse that pays $16 and i get $24 for the same horse ask that same question again....i have been using best tote for over12 months now and can say it is the best decision i have made....the price fluctuations between the 3 tabs can be huge some times....i have got $3.50 about a horse paying less than $2.50...if you had a $1000 bet on that horse tell me what price you would prefer

That's exactly what I was thinking. Partypooper seems VERY upset about it, but most punters would just love to even have to worry about that. |

![]() Hi fester,
A win is not a win when you get paid a div of $ 2.50 from 3 selections ,when you could have had $4.00 for no extra work. Accepting unders is the main reason punters find it difficult to profit from racing long term. A win is a win logic only applies if you have one bet a year then walk away. If a win is a win ,why not try & single out just one pre-post fav for the whole day to loose & pick 6 others to beat it , easier said than done, you will be amazed how often that drop dead fav gets up when you dont want him to. Cheers.

![]() Bhagwan & Shaun, you are 100% correct, that tiny window IS the best of 3 totes in my experience. (well except for maybe less than 5-1 when best fluc. seems to come up tops.) as you outlined Bhagwan.
Sportz, you are darn right to interpret that I am VERY upset about the ************ 100-1 limit. I won't go into detail but I found out the hard way! When backing longshots, you obviously experience LONG runs of outs and it's only when you nail those VERY big payers that makes it all worthwhile, what possible excuse can they offer for imposing a 100-1 limit,???? They will gladly take your money on a 230-1 shot and pay you 100-1 when it wins????? "WHAT -THE" My advice to ALL punters is DO NOT INVEST WITH OUTFITS THAT IMPOSE LIMITS ON SINGLE BETS, or any other limit for that matter! |

![]() I'm with you partypooper.........The other little clause that is beyond belief is the one where they can refuse your business and close your account for any reason and they don't have to tell you why. I found this out the hard way last year: Went to put a bet on the telephone. Operator advises me that the account is suspended. I speak to a supervisor who says they don't want my business and the funds will be transferred to my bank account overnight.
The funds were there the next day alright but when I asked the head honcho what the go was, he said that they were after "recreational punters". Go figure that one and the NT Govt let them get away with it. Last edited by Moderator 3 : 20th April 2005 at 05:03 PM. |
