Easier to pick the winner.
In one horse race you have 14 horses to deal with, in tennis you got 2 players.

What you say is very true, but many of the winners are odds-on which would more or less compensate for the relative ease of selecting the winners.

Regardless of winning or losing horseracing is never a waste of time. For many forum users in here including myself the thrill of picking that occasional winner that you have studied or followed over time, outways the others by far. I am passionate about horseracing and some of my most memorable days of racing involve me walking away a loser but witnessing one of the best runs of all time. Just for the record, I show a healthy profit from racing.
