Soon as they win a race they become a grade five.
Win more and you become a grade 4.Lose a few and you go out to a grade 5 again. Most races are maidens and grade 5's because most dogs are that. |

Hi, here is the Grade rankings based on the avg time of the second placegetter minus-.001.
Rank 1 is the Fastest avg time based on the above. To make these grade rankings work you really would need to apply a track by track adjustment factor. Grade Ranking P 1 X23 2 SG1 3 SF 4 SGL 5 SG2 6 F 7 Â* 8 X34 9 S 10 ST 11 5F 12 SP 13 4 14 SG3 15 X 16 5T 17 3 18 MCF 19 MQF 20 X34P 21 5P 22 X45 23 G 24 MF 25 J 26 M 27 MZ 28 5QF 29 5 30 MT 31 N 32 MQ 33 5Q 34 |

Hi Mecurial,
That is the actual Grade rankings for greyhounds that have raced in vic for the last 18 months. Some of the Grades types are obviously those from Interstate tracks |
