Back in the saddle,,,they say if you fall off you should get back straight on..

Coquito Rose tomorrow at E/F ..backed her last start and she nearly upset the shortpriced fav..E/F and the extra distance will suit...
Startled Hunter...looked very impressive last start..looked strong and focused in the scamper..this is harder but i think he can do it..
Audited...great run last start...looks to have come back better this prep and is ready to hit top gear..

also liked Sirenese at Quirindi...Robbo on board and the mare hit the line very well last start...
hopfully a better day tomorrow than today.....alteast it cant get any worse :)

G'day Mav

I thought Davion was a special yesterday. Funny thing is I was at the footy yesterday and the TV in the box just happen to be on SKY and Tony Brazzel was all over Davion and had it as his best..... so loaded up. But the great thing was it was my only bet for the day and I got the tri five times, went 5-14-F..... beautiful....

Well done on Saturday, you had a big one in Sydney!

May the winners continue to flow ;)

Gday guys,
Good to see the thread still going. I've been out bush with work for a while but back in town now and ready to find some winners. Some good racing over easter, cant wait to get up to oakbank, great atmosphere up there.
Anyway, may as well get back in the swing of it with a couple at the valley tonight.
Race 5. Going to have a few bob on chiak here. He's got a great record first up and prooviding he jumps well from the inside will be right in this. The toppy also goes very well fresh and I think one of these will win but chiak will be the value of the two.

In race 6 ill be on Itsamonty if odds permit.

Won a fortune on the first two rounds of the footy, wont be giving too much back tonight.

13th April 2006, 08:24 PM
Hi Luv2 ..glad to see you back,,

I was keen on a Queenslander in the next at MV called Lukes Turn...this horse is pretty good...was expecting 10's,,,to short for me at $4's with Bexxar in the race..and Snappy tom.
Good horse is Lukes Turn and trained down there by Kelly...very interesting to see if he can handle the corners..been on him every win so far so i'll have a token $5 on so i can say i've backed him his whole career incase he becomes something spesh..

might have an exacta for fun aswell ...good race :)

Sportz
13th April 2006, 08:26 PM

Time to get back off the canvas to have another go tomorrow...feeling confident after Mondays dissapointments.
Maybe Sven or Ubetido will lend there thoughts and talk me out of a few ?

Ipswich
Race2
Socialist has been costly for me but tomorrow atleast draws a barrier and is
down in class..can't see him being beaten in this small field...Davion was very
impressive at the Sunny Coast ..wasn't touched to the line but this is a big step up..Line by line after trialing nicely the next best..
Confident on Socialist..stewart worries me alittle but all he has to do is give this horse room and he wins..

Race 4.
Startled Hunter is in good form..did well last start and most importantly jumps very well...will be hard to run down here..
dont like the 2.80..should get better tomorrow..

Race 5
Rejuventate Lass looks a class above them..i can see Ruby's Party leading with Rejuvenate Lass coming across and sitting outside her and being to strong in the run home...
the claim is the important thing here..gives her a big chance..Thimbles beat her in a recent barrier trial but RL wasnt at all asked to do anything where as
Thimbles and Lujacool raced each other..

Race 7.
A real bridesmaid is Picworth..but gets the right race to win tomorrow ..suited by the barrier and hopefully Carl settles him better than midfield..he races so consistent and has performed against better than this..
best e/w of the day...

Dont mind Funover in the last but i doubt a price...

Best . Socialist, Rejuvenate Lass .

Sydney
Mosso,Sky fury,Admirelle,Piculet,Serenade Rose,Black Ink,Matador,Letter of Intent.

Going to have some fun in Sydney....some roughies again and also some shorties i probably won't touch.. i wont be as free with the green as i was on Monday...unless i'm a having good day....
:)
Good Luck All...

19th April 2006, 05:26 PM
ouch..theres not many days where i bet and get only 1 collect ....i thought Monday was bad...today was worse..

Had a go at Mosso..nearly there at nice odds...
Socialist...what the hell was Stewart doing ??he did the same the other day on high Academy..when you have the class horse of the race..its simple..give him some room...he thinks hes Moses and the sea of horses will part for him...(I dont usually bag jockeys...but what the ? )
Sky Fury...a roughie..and ran like it..
Piculet...another roughie...but ran well...will win over some ground...
Black Ink,,,cant complain here..did very well although i havent seen the replay yet....propieter ?? what the ?
Picworth...only time i ever back him he puts in his only bad performance ever...i'm cursed i think....Ispwich can **** my balls..

Letter of Intent...chasing a loss here...and so close...this would have got me back to even...but atleast it wasnt a loss..a nice place divie..

1 collect out of 7 last 2 days of the carnival have been awfull...hoping to redeem myself Sydney Cup day..... Messian slowly becoming a distant memory...migh have to return this fancy new Laptop i got if i keep going like this..

Hope you guys had a good one :)

ps..wasnt Serendae Rose and Serious Money impressive...

Hey Maverick,

Yeah Serenade Rose keeps on proving people that she really is the best filly in the country, keeps going from strength to strength, plenty of G1s in her yet.

Very difficult day for mine, open fields, track seemed a little uneven in places and the back markers tended to struggle, proprietor's run was absolutely mindblowing, couldnt believe he blew out to 45s, well done on letter of intent I liked him on form but once again a very open field.

Keen on a few today.
PT LINCOLN (a few will be too short, but you never know!)

Race 3
This is a two horse race. The top 2 will fight this out, forget the others are there. I think the toppy will be too good once again desppite the increase in weight, probably no value though. Maybe have these 2 for 1st and 2nd with eagle juan for 3rd a heap of times.

race 5.
Naloora belle has been the bridesmaid long enough to win this one. Has been unlucky not to win one of his last three and today should be his day.

Race 7.
Another toppy should win this. Roller door has drawn the inside, has hoppo onboard and should get the prize here.

Race 8.
Shieky Miss. This is an interesting horse this one. Its my mates horse and it is an absolute nutter. A full relative to soverign miss, this thing is with its 4th or 5th trainer now, its just been a hazard to itself and the other horses around it. They reckon it can fly though, when it wants to.

Townsville
rACE 10.
I think dorian can hit back here. The 1400 may have been a tad to far last start, theres not a lot in the race, drawn the inside will be hard to beat.

Good luck for today

Bad luck at Lincoln Luv2 but you did get Dorian so atleast some cab fare home.

I'll curse a few tomorrow ;)

Grafton
Paper Blonde
Sircolo
Both look standouts and there price will probably reflect this

Ipswich
Sir Kingslea
liked the look of this horse last time i saw him..doesnt have to beat much here. Market a guide.

Wodonga
Romantic Lover
Racing as good as ever..weight wont stop him.

Good luck all :)

maverick1993
22nd April 2006, 09:47 PM
wow just looked at Friday and can see i stopped some real good chances that were mostly favs.. I should be looking at the betfair option.
Sircolo and Romantic lovers runs were huge...considering...follow.

I have a few for betfair tomorrow ;)
Sunny Coast
Triple Pe (good horse fitter here and suited on this track n distance)
Aintnothinbetter (doesnt win often but did win for me once and looks well in this race tomorrow...takes time to wind up and needs tempo ..gets that tomorrow in this ordinary race.)

Taree
Strawbery Spy (mulligan trains the tri here) racing in fine form..killed them last start ..this is harder but weight might anchor some of the toppies
Home on the Grange..nicely bred horse..taken some time but should be right in this race against this lot..

Wagga
He's Unique (flying...looks to good for them)
Sweetn Tidy (been running on well of late..)

Cranny
Larson.

I'm going ok in these country features..(Duro Valley ,Solias) ..hope it continues tomorrow..

Good luck all .. anyone else with specials tomorrow ?? share the wealth :)

24th April 2006, 01:19 AM
Hi guys, it's been a while hope you've all had a good easter.

Thought Savlate looked a standout tommorow at Seymour, He is a high class animal with 5 placings from all 5 starts. Assuming there will be plenty of money for Abbasinga who absolutley flew home last start for an unlucky second to At The Oasis in a c1. Savlate's form however is first rate and he has the distinct advantage of being on the pace or just off it whereby Abba will be ridden for luck again. Savlate is drawn to get the run of the race and i think Abbasinga will have a tough time running him down. Hoping for some decent value = over $3.50 Savlate.

Anyway good to see this little old thread is still going strong, hopefully it keeps providing winners for a while to come.

P.S bet of the day today had to be Shadow, had the outstanding formline of running second to superstar 'The Mooksta' first up this prep, and yes my tongue is firmly implanted in my cheek.

Cheers ED

few for today.
Penola
Race 3. Annods map, needed its last run after some leg problems, back to a suitable distance here and will go close if ridden close enough to the leaders. Drawn the inside barrier, if no banana today the horse will never get my money again.
Race 5. Fancy force. won well last start at strath, can go on with it here in an ordinary field, Irkutsk the main danger.
race 7. Nikita jane.Pretty keen here. Won well last start and has a perfect record at this distance, will take some beating.

TAMWORTH.
Race 4. top crown
race 7. fuji kid
Race 8. last little indian.

SUNSHINE COAST.
Race 6. outside the flags

Nice win by Newtons Rings..such an honest horse ...actually got the trifecta but lost ,,,would have been nice if the 4th placegetter Bannock Bay finished 3rd or 2nd,,,would have paid a stack,,

Thought i had it with Dellamby and at double fiure odds,,...nearly got there..
Clanger was his usual honest self.....maybe past it now,,,

Victory Charm was ridden poorly...the jockey took off a mile to early,,,..cant beat experience in these races....

No other bets ,scratchings and track downgrade in Adelaide,,,
a small loss today even with the win of Newtons Rings today but only a little...
Hope you guys had a good one :)

Hi guys a few in the stable for tomorrow..
Doomben
My Son Day, Line By Line , Brave Action
Canterbury
Eight Kisses, Forestreno
Werribee
Saki Saki, Attacca
Alice Springs
Aka Bilk

In a hurry tonight but realy like Forestreno who ran on well behind the smart Any Suggestion last start..the extra distance suits..just needs the speed on ...
Good Luck all :)

1st May 2006, 10:37 PM
Frustrating day today..
Line by Line and My Son Day won very nicely..Brave Action just ran out of steam..
took on the hot pots in Sydney and nearly got them both
Eight kisses nearly there and Forestreno very very unlucky..even protested..
not sure about Akabilk was thereabouts but not good enough..

A while back i told you about a trainer Rory Oconnor who trained the 3rd place getter in Line By Line's race called Bound To (he raced in Socialists 2nd last start at Ispswich) .. ..hes very good at placing his horses and getting a price for them its a very big betting stable......Bound to started at over a 100/1 today...the funny thing is i had him in my exotics but had Bikie tin blues for 3rd not 2nd...frustrating....could have been a monster collect..for only a $16 outlay...thing is if actually went full stake in that race i would have got it.. $33,000....but per my rule odds on its not on..
did get My Son day though...but the loses in Sydney and Aka meant a loss for the day...

Like a few tomorrow at the Bool
March In Style, Alquador and Cool Trent
and a roughie at Orange called Scared Stiff.

Good Luck all :)

An even day today thanks to Cool Trent....crappy trifecta though..

Ipswich
Latino/Bundanoon, Miss Judgement/ Lykazrytec..
I'd be wary of Ipswich...the track has been a bit funny of late..watch the prior races and see if theres a bias again..

Balaklava
Pluvious **...i think this distance suits as does the draw and 51kgs..

Kempsey
Strawbery Spy *, Starlactic
The Strawbery is racing consistently...is rock hard fit ..
interested to hear the brissie boys thoughts on Starlactic..has a stack of weight but we all know up in Brissie how good he is....doubt he'll be any value anyway..

Randwick
Sky Fury. Lady Frisco

Bool
Go Fuhreva

Good luck Lady Frisco tomorrow ...the 2 toppies are beatable.

Gday All

A few for thursday... Local times shown.. Warrnambool is great meeting but by jeez it is a tough one I think Real Tonic will win the Steeple and Stay All Day is a huge chance in the Cup, Rubijon rates very highly and is a danger as is Celtic Boom imho .. But it is a Cup and they are usually pretty hard...I would be looking for about 9/2 the field in the Cup. About $2.2 would be fair for the Steeple... But they are in pretty strong races . There are no WBool races below because it looks like a fairly tough old day at the 'bool..

Good Luck with em

not a bad day today..pluvious,Latino,Miss Judgment,Starlactic all winning..

A few for tomorrow
Gosford, Tactical Response ...just looks to good for these..

Rocky, Treasure the Kwilla...the old boy still has a win left in him..Keep promising Joy safe..

Wagga, Little Shrek...i'll take on the hot pot Dress Suit here as i think the barrier isnt ideal...Shrek will get the good run..

Bool, Forest Knight...i like the jockey change ridden poorly last start and the wet suits...Rubujon the danger,,
Grab the Phone, ..hopefully has the radar working tomorrow...not sure in the wet though...will see how the tack is..

Good luck all...its been fun on the punt of late..plenty of action..

maverick1993
4th May 2006, 07:35 PM
Not a bad day today...Tactical Response a winner and Forest Knight a decent place divie.
and if you kept Promising Joy safe like i said you would won on him aswell...

thought the run by Treasure the Kwilla was good considering he lost the start and then got locked away on the inside and got to far back,,,looked good towards the line though and he'll have a win soon..

another fun day on the punt. :)

A few for tomorrow..
Wagga
Casual Dieu D'or, Sydney Symphony, Cash Carter
Cash Carter rates a special ..and i should get atleast some odds as they might come for a few..
Townsville
Don Sequalo, Gold Tusnami.
Both should be huge odds...Don sequalo should lead this lot and might be hard to run down...Gold Tusnami is hard to follow and i really miss when Stanley was ridding him...theres a strong tempo in this race and if hes ridden very quiet he'll be flying home...the 1300m i think suits..

Good luck all...

Hi Luv2 ..is Soveriegn Miss a chance in the wet ??? i love the mare but am worried with no exposed wet form..any inside info ????

Have a few tomorrow..
Sunny Coast
Proud Hunter, My Lion Angel, Sir Kingslea, Migaloo, Hopeson, Lasting Luck, tycoon Rose /Generalisomo

Murwillimbah
Sircolo, Cyclone Busby (should be huge odds)

Cessnock
Geelong Majestique

Kilmore
Cathy Come Home

Adelaide
Mccloud, Lifes a Bounty,Classiconi...

Have a stack of runners around the place tomorrow especially at the Sunshine Coast....confident though and i'm hoping Tycoon rose is ridden alot better this time..she loves the track and can win this at odds...same trainer as My lion Angel so i'm hoping hes having a good day,,

Good luck all.. :)

maverick1993
9th May 2006, 11:42 PM
A few winners up the coast and a nice winner in Lifes a bounty....a few losers though so nothing doing last Sunday...
have a few runners tomorrow...
Sydney
*I've been on Piculet of late ...looks ready to win tomorrow but the Sportsman i see has her on the cover...sometimes puts the mocker on...and almost always means a good price is gone...even so she should be winning..likes the track and has been working to the line well of late..
*Phalanx...this is the horse Luv2 tipped last start and he got lost on the turn but still came home very well...has a distance and track query but on that last run you'd think 1500m shouldnt worry him....should be nice e/w odds as theres a few nice horses in this race..Casino Knight,Dial Tones, Mr Ubiquitous..

Sandown
Thought Fullazz looked well placed...was very unlucky last start and with the claim here is well in especially from the barrier....Betsy wont be easy to beat but Fullazz looks a bit better...a good exacta race.

Ipswich
*Cigallo in the 3rd has been looking good of late...doesnt run a bad race and the track and extra distance will suit..has no weight and a good draw,,,Matty just has to ride quiet and then use the wide open spaces of the straight..
Design Award also raced well last start and the distance will suit aswell...
good trifecta race..
*Stella Joy also looked good last start and looks an impoving type..the alley helps..i like the toppy but the weights a worry and Tamales trialled very well from all reports..
*Mystikos looks a special..drawn nicely and weighted ok,,,
*Abu Simbel...yes i'm tipping the donkey again...they had big plans for this horse..nominated in everything but they have settled on midweek class6...he should be winning this and easily...ridden forward last time and battled on ok..maybe they'll ride him alittle closer again....
*Line By Line won easily last start...did have all the favours though...but still looks to strong...also thought LaPic will be suited here,,,dont leave her out,,
*I'm a fan of Panzer but tomorrow with the wide barrier and big weight i wont be taking anything short..hes still good enough to win this though as theres breakneck speed up front ......i loved brebeaudan lads last run...got the inside with a light weight...can run a 57...Shes All greek with form in the same race a danger especially if a claimer is aboard..

Good luck all...and go Abu Simbel :)

A special thanks goes out to Luv2 ,,where ever he is...Thanks for pointing out Phalanx the other week..not often a 20/1 shot gets up for me :)

Had a frustrating day till Phalanx,,,,
Cigallo missed the kick,,,
Stella Joy was a win and very happy with it,,,
Mystikos,,a brave 2nd but to short for me
Line by Line...raced wide.to short for me again
Abu Simbel,,,,finally given up on this donkey...never again..
Panzer,,,nearly there,,,,good run with the weight...
Piculet,,,,,ran on as usual..tempo to slow...ready for further,,,

at this stage 1 from 5.....thank god for the last bet get out of jail stakes..

Like a couple tomorrow
Joe Dirt at Mackay...performed very well down in Brissie..should find it easier tomorrow...the freshn helps..
Cody No Commands...hit the line nicely last start..Spriggs a plus and i should get nice odds again..

Good luck all :)

Well done Mav, I thought of you as phalanx crossed the line, glad you got on. After it's last start which was a great run you said It would pay to follow.... glad we did..

Had computer problems again, starting to get very frustrated. Great effort by soveriegn miss in those conditions on sunday, it was one of those days where we all knew the horse couldnt be fitter, but untried in those conditions is always a worry.

Well done with joe dirt Mav, hope you can make it 2 from 2 in wyong. We've just named our son Cody, so Im on...

Hi Luv2...Glad you were on Phalanx ,,those winners dont come around to often...I thought Sovereign Miss was very brave in defeat last week,,she was never comfy in the ground but class got her close...shes going very well..

Joe Dirt just got there today...better odds than i thought as well...
Cody No Commands will keep for another day,,,i agree Classiconi it was a funny race,,,jockeys falling off left right and centre,,,

Like a few tomorow
Cranny
Stratus Faction

Coffs
Ziamain ,,dont usually like betting in these little 800m scampers but Ziamian over the same distance a couple of starts ago ran very well,,was unlucky that day not to win...same track helps..
Plural, Good look ,,like them both ,,just not sure of value..
Kaaptive Idea,,,this horse has been good to me,,,last time i was on him he was first past the line at nice odds but lost it on protest...has a flying finish..suited on this track and the likey tempo,,,robbo a big plus..

Sorry BB i didnt mean it like that...Just didnt know what was happening in the run .i didnt even know where Cody was or that it lost the rider..the caller couldnt keep up with all the action.....hope all is well with the jocks and i've said it many a time that these guys never get paid enough to do what they do...i'd rather ride a bull at a rodeo.

Nuthn much happening today...put all my bets on early this arvo and the balance took a hit,,with only Good look getting up at shorts...
seems as though the backmarkers werent making any ground today so it basically gave Kaaptive idea no chance.....plural was dissapointing...Stratus Faction 3rd but no cigar...
Ziamiam just to short to take in that sort of race...

Sunshine Coast
*Catlist....a maiden drawn wide ..but did trial nicely and i hear good things..
*lipinski.... in good form and suited here..dont like the abrrier though..
*Grand Lover....loves the wide open spaces and was running on well last start. i'm a fan of Tycoon Rose aswell and she'll run as honest as ever but i'd prefer her against the girls..i'll have something on her e/w as usual as shes got ability and loves the track.
*Capeline...big push for this horse last start ,,and nearly got there,,,suited

Geelong
*Generals Command
Gunnedah
Irish Loup, Victory Charm (Beat That)

fingers crossed and good luck to all :)

An even day on the punt thanks to a winner in General Commands ,,,
Victory Charm was ridden like i feared...3 or 4 wide the whole way and given no chance....
The Sunny Coast wasnt very exciting,,,
Grand Lover did well after a wide run ,,Capeline ordinary but didnt have much room,,,,,Lipinski ordinary,,,

Tomorrow Lady Frisco's horse Lady Frisco is running...lets keep it between us guys so we get a price :) ...i said after her last run to back her in something suitable and they've found a nice race for her up in Bathurst..

She did nothing, I had a Daily Double, with both N lye rides 13/6, had 10 units on it too, shame that would have been nice....:(

she was alot shorter than i expected..havent seen the replay yet so i cant comment but she ran 4th so i guess she paid her float trip..

Only getting the one winner per day but atleast its keeping me in the game..
Rural LAw won in a canter...very nice..
Langfibian and Double Entendre both 2nd both to short to back...
Lady Frisco..4th ...will watch the replay later...
Tiny Tales..just never travelled,,dissapointing..

Tuesday
Rocky
Rear Admiral...this horse has dicky legs but can run..with the likey support for the toppy this horse might surprise ...
Fastness....another Brissie horse that was just off some good horses...up there should be very competitive up there in this race..
BAllina
Mighty Canny...A maiden so wanting some value..ran well at the Coast..
Fred The Cowboy..very honest horse...nice e/w
Meanma/Pay Day Lass...liked Meanmas run in brissie..very brave but the track specialist Payday LAss will be hard to beat..maybe try a few multis with these 2 and Jims Tips...

Good Luck all :)

Fastness looked the winner halfway down the straight....i think the jock was surprised about how how quickly he got to the front...took off alittle to early..

Didnt have a bet in Ballina with the heavy..and of course Meanma wins....
one of those days..
notice another Frisco view finished 2nd in that race at odds...cant beleive how many times they seem to do it..very honest sound gallopers that seem to bob up at odds all over the place....

Have a few in the stable tomorrow..havent done any ratings yet..and i wont have time till tomorrow morning...
Check them out though,,as i'm sure theres a winner or 2 in them...

Hardrock Diamond, Bambu/Rampant Lion/Partridge, La Pic

Sounds Ready, Iris In the Glen, Celtic Bloom

A few maidens there so tread carefully,,,,in the Miss Glamour Puss race i see on paper a stack of crazy initial speed,,,she'll be strong the last 100m if you want to take on Sir Monashee...

couple for today.
Pt augusta.
Race 5, chading. Pretty keen on this in this field. Just missed out first up over 1500, will be much fitter for that run and the extra distance wont be a problem. It gets all the ticks, bakers a great rider imo drawn a good barrier, has a good record at this track and has a good record 2nd up, anything around 3's would be nice.

In race 4 Manahi star should bolt it in. Again an ordinary field and in top form, I dont think the extra weight will be a problem,
Will take these in an all up to increase value, and bankers in multi's.

Good luck today.

I settled on Chading too, but another one in the race might upset [forgot the name now, but they were 1st. and 2nd. to each other last start]. My other bet there was r6 Double ripple.
Only 2 good tracks today. Not much going on. Jaleva r6 S/coast [slow] was in my black book and likes it slow.

Good luck.

Not a bad result today ,,Becks Crown and Helter Skelter and the exacta..
Media fund 3rd and thought Nediyms Spirit was prety short for a maiden with only average trial form...must have looked a treat on track..
Sydney Smphony and Proud Hunter to short and lucky they were...

A few for tomorrow to have a look at..
Albury
Nitonic, Fords Creek, Spalding
Moe
Saki Saki*, Last Waltz, Hoplite

Best View, Paris Flyer*

The last few weeks i've tried a different midweek ratings system which is throwing up more favs than i usally back..but its showing a profit ,,early days yet and a couple of big divies Phalanx and Rampant Lion probably flatter the bottom line..

Fords Creek should be nice odds,,races forward and battled on well last start,,a very brave horse this that will give alot of cheek...another in this race is Geronimo..this horse failed as a stallion and i thought was heading for a jumping career ..hes a very good looking horse that must have his share of problems..but he has shown ability in the past...worth keeping safe at huge odds..

Best View and Frisco Model for the exacta...easy :)

Satu San was a good 'over'. A backmarker in an ally to suit [10] and with Alesci steering. Last win was from [11]. Was going to get the perfect run set up by leaders. Backed Nugget Of Gold in the last but never tipped it here because it had a bad barrier for a mid-pacer[11] on that track. Park almost pulled it off. 2nd for $3.70p.

I think we might as well dump our 'black books'. We probably all had Nobby's Beach in there for ages but it looks like so did all the media tipsters [seems to happen with most black book entries]. I didn't bother with it and as usual like a lot of real shorties, it lost. It had never run the distance, nor the track ...odds-on fav.? Give us a break !

hi Mav,

I've been betting 1X6 units ew ratio [$5X30 or $10X60] for the past few weeks after a poor couple of months from my win bets. Seems to work a treat. What I loose for the win I usually more than making up for with the place components [swings and slides].
1 win and 2 placings from 5 races is mostly as good as 2 wins from 5 races which is a lot harder to do regularly [I don't chase shorties].
It's only when I'm getting 2 wins [or more] in 5 I'd be better off with straight win bets, which began happening as soon as I started betting 1X6 ew of course :-)

I wouldn't be discounting the NZer in the 7th at Ipswich tommorow, Easy on the Eye. Was wide at his first run in Aus and so finished a long way off em. But there was good money for him, suggesting there was confidence from somewhere. A better alley and loads of speed might see him competitive.

Sven

maverick1993
30th May 2006, 08:38 PM
You mean the 6th Sven...i rated this horse fairly high but the times over there are always questionable,,,and then the question needs to be asked
"Why race it here ?"
to many ifs and buts ...but arent the Easy Rockings doing well ...
i thought Noble gent from the inside would be in it along way the track suits him ....,,and dont forget Monte Cavallo for 2nd ..he seems to like it there.

Svenvlad
31st May 2006, 12:00 AM
Yea, sorry the 6th race Mav.

I've just got a huge question mark over Noble Gent. He hasn't won for a while and doesn't really seem to race at his peak away from EF. And dont worry, i'm the first to admit that NZ form is dubious...i still think Cog Hill is no hope in the Straddy and hes equal fav at $6.50? I just reckon that Easy on the Eye has loads of improvement left...mainly cauz hes only had 5 starts. Plus, as you say, the Easy Rockings are flying.

I hear you about Monte Cavallo though, theres a professional placegetter if ever i saw one.

I like Mi Cielo at Ipswich too mav.with hope for Osca's Right with the massive weight drop, good odds and right barrier.

Sven's right about Noble Gent, hasn't won a race since Adam was a lad. I do like Mersey Beat and that thing Colless is on loves the distance and track. Poor form line but has been competing at a much higher level than this.
I've got 4th. up Pop Will marked in the last, as from barrier 10 this backmarker only needs flicking out from the rear and steering at the right time by Danny Griffin. A couple of leaders here should set things up. That's the theory anyway:-)

Good luck.

maverick1993
31st May 2006, 10:31 AM
yep Noble Gent has been hard to follow...but we know hes capable of time ..with the claim and the inside barrier and the likely double figure odds i just liked the value..
another in this race that has speed is Suubird ,,,awkward barrier though ,,i think Mr Ed followed this horse for awhile,,,another horse capable of jaging a place is Stars o' Gold ,,should have won 2 starts ago and was wide and no chance last start...
One of those races ,,,the speed map swayed it Noble Gents way...
A few good races today at Ispwich

WhataTune and Two Dancers

Thought the young boy struggled with the whip on Noble Gent but did ok..

Ledger,,,dont know why i keep backing this horse ,,
With A chance..fantastic run ..never had much room and just got done..i like this horse....phalanx a very honest 4th..

Hi mav.

Had a look at that Nediyms Spirit. From the outside barrier it will need a lot of luck at 1200m on the Sun track as a mid-pacer. Pity it's not a backmarker.
The race is a maiden with a heap of horses in it too.

I can only find a couple today up there:

r6/1 A Tad Cool (NZ) (4) 57.05yo b g (P G Moody at Caulfield) M Cahill

A southern raider and looking at times, it's true. The southern horses seem to have a couple of lengths on the Qld locals in sprint races. No problem with the weight and quite a few of the [better] horses here have forgotten the way to the winners stall. This one should run over the top of them from the rear.

r7/12 Slick Trick (5) 54.04yo br g (M J Mair at Caloundra) K Pope

and was only ever going to be there for the run.

Going to be a heavy track at Bairnsdale [my local]. It's rained every night here for 3 nights running. Too late for me to move to QLD now.

G'day all,

Couple for tomorrow, from my brief look at the fields.

BR1 - Thought Captain Lightning was a good bet here. Stable have a good opinion of him, and he should have enough class to get away with this.

BR5 - Birthday Bash appears to be better than his opposition here. Most of them are getting on a bit and don't have much upside. Reckon BB will be too strong at the end.

Good luck,

Bit of class on the rest. Eagle Street seems to be shaping up as a pro. place getter but Ivor Special has the speed and won at the distance [Colless too] but might set it up for P/Boy. Rin Tin is in it too so a hard race.

r7/4 Circus Maximus (7) 55.5 4yo b g (W L Ingram at Toowoomba) just beaten by Shreck last start first up. Better alley here and won 2nd up this distance with 57kg in a $50k maiden.

If I had been smart, in my uncertainty for this race I would normally have had a couple of units on a 3 horse box exacta [I rarely do tri's]. Rin Tin won and then lost it to Ivor Special on protest [both around 9 or 10/1]. Exacta paid $145.50. Was I smart? No, I was having a dumb day. Hey Mav, thought Luke's Turn was a spec today aswell. His last run was enormous he was only swallowed late and the winner Haddle Mcdaddle is pretty smart. Hi Crash...yep another placing..going nowhere with my midweek betting..(Monday as a feature meet doesnt count) My saturdays and feature days are supplementing my midweek punts.....Overall i'm in the black so its not panic stations yet but if i continue the downward spiral i might just cut the amount of bets during the week to only super specials and then only if i've had time to rate the race thoroughly..

Lately i've been experimenting with new ratings that are quick and easy .and last week and this week only concentrating on bookers and stable runners....but it seems the less you put in the less you get......

Today I Like old Maizy May up north

17th June 2006, 12:01 AM
Hi all, got a few bookers tommorow all rising from midweek class but have put in top efforts recently.

Emooki Street in the stayers race gets a lovely weight drop here and i think the field isn't overly strong (Taman Trader had every favour last start). Emooki has won at the track and distance last start when showed a terrific sprint at the end of his race, i think he's a lovely bet.

Roadhog, was just very unlucky first up at Bendigo when clutted up on the inside, bit of an enigma but he has a touch of class and meets a relatively weak field tommorow.

Platinum Place, last two at this course have been terrific, Note two starts back was beaten a head Centashani and beat home Gracious Curves easily looks top form now. She always puts in a big run and looks a good e/w chance tommorow.

Tend to agree with Mav about Clang Edition, should have beaten Tsolias last start and now meets him on better weight and barrier terms, so if the odds are alright i'll be on him.

Electic at Belmont is very smart, and may be some decent odds as Let go Thommo is taking all b4 him, electic is drawn to get a terrific run either leading or just off them and any rain at all would make him a certainty.

Have to mention my favorite girl running in Adelaide in Miss Starnee, on face value her last start was dissapointing but the extra distance now is strongly in her favour and she very rarely runs a bad race. Worth an interest e/w.

Hopefully get a winner or two here, my biggest go will be on Emooki Street, i really liked his last win.

Hi Mav and Mr .Ed. I agree Glang Edition is a good chance in the last in a tricky race. Seems to have been up forever though hasn't he[?]. I'm going the toppy here Rapid Reason (NZ) who scored nicely at Doomben last start and this distance will suit even better. A good exacta and tri race.

I like Parameter and King of Soul in the 1st. Parameter has the edge on speed but will have to hunt for the lead from barrier 8 and Nikolic is on King of soul who has drawn perfectly. King of Soul for me and might be a good exacta or tri race too. Throw in Celtic Trial.

A Little Naughty for R2 is back on a good track and back from doing no good against Starlactic in listed company. Should prove better than this lot with 2 goes at the distance for 2 wins.
Flying Alpha in R5 is a big improver for slick trainer O'shea.
Shysu for the Eye Liner stakes.
Douro Valley or Sphenophyta for the Cup.

Enterprise man in R6 at Sandown is well suited and Irish Darling [at good odds] in R7 might be the finish of the fav. Dirty Denims run of 1sts. The wet track should see home Leroy the man in the last.

Have a good one.

Holmesa was dissapointing...just didnt travel at all ...maybe something was up or it could have been that weird hill they have to climg up in the straight...but still finished ok..

Some good races around tomorrow...been raining alot in brissie ..would have to be slow at best..

Not sure of the track in Brissie but these look ok....would want a price though.
Zoe's Lad,,looks a class above them..havent a jockey yet and does need the speed on..will probably be to short to back anyway..
Wheel The Lead,,,will love the wet,,,battled on well on the worst part of the track last start..
Partying ,,,caught my eye last start..mad a stack of ground on the tight circuit...should be nice e/ws as theres some promising horses in this race..

Sydney
Knot Now,,,been on this horse of late..did well last start and this looks suitable...wont taking anything short though..
Our Jetsetter...what a race this is,,,some real flashy potential topliners in this ...keep an eye on the Hawksy runner...but i do like this Our Jetsetter..really attacks the line and did very well after racing wide last start...e/w

Melbourne
Polyester Boy...i like this horse,,has been good to me,,,should be ready to fire tomorrow and the claim helps..

a couple others i didnt mind tomorow...Boomshaker,Regina desert and Charged ..all worth throwing in your tris..
Boomshakers run was huge last start,,,just a bit inconsistant ..

Good Luck all....and go the aussies tonight in england :)

Friscos Vision,,,1st..

Seems the best result i had today was with Lucky Phil ..in a race where i didnt rate or even looked at the form....I had Lucky Phil as a mention in my book as i liked his last start but his record just turned me off him ...me of little faith.

*Browns Plains,,,has ability,,,,but might need it longer ..
Muselbrook
*Northfield Drive/Derby Parade / Ambiose/ Dusty Flyer ...in this order.. i'll be having a trifecta and 1st4 play with this race..
the top 2 rate clearly on top..
*Courtney's Report/West Royale/Dashound/Chevington/Just Delphic....
another race i'll be playing around with the multis only..

I like Northfield Drv but will need value to jump aboard.,,guessing Umaprince will be to short to back..not sure about Browns Plains guesing its wet up there and you'd think the breed will swim.....just might need another run but worth an e/w..

*Cambric / Bound to.....very solid win by Cambric last start and still has improvement...Bound to has been ultra consistant and did the job for me last start this is harder of course,,
Sydney
*Abruptions...loved his last run..led till the shadows and was on the worse part of the track..nicely weighted and i like this young jocks style..
*Bromide.....beadman kills a decent price though..
*Crique,,,didnt seem comfortable on the track last start but kept finding...i like this horse as he trys hard..distance suits....track ?
Melbourne
*Terre Tale...this filly caught my eye at Morphetville...shes a real flyer..and if Shinn can get her across in the lead she'll be hard to catch...check betting..
Strathalbyn
*Honour Kate....hard to follow but she can run,,shes mixed it with open class sprinters on her day.....likes this track..should get nice e/w's..

Good luck all :)

Quiet in here lads ...
Not having much luck yet...Abruptions led to the shadows yet again and Terretale just average....
Bromide to short,,,(nice exacta 14.50 ??)
still like Cambric and Crique.....also recieved some mail about Marenello Miss at Belmont...worth an e/w as hes a good judge..
Honour Kate still a hope and good value..even if all the support is for Chloe who was very impressive last start..
also Saxon seems to be getting out to backable odds...a bit of a nonwinner but you'd have to think king Of Soul is vulnerable down the long straight...

Mav,

If Dr Denzel had improved any off his first run at the coast he was going to be mighty tough to beat. Its a top effort beating any 900m field by 7 odd lenghts, and the time was good for a 1st starter too. The first 2 across the line there today look well above average but the winner might be one right out of the box...

Hurricanaurum for me in the next. Not a cert but it won over this distance by a mere 5 lengths last start and by all accounts has been racing consistently. Perhaps Honest record a danger, good 2nd up record. Impeccable Knight is in the market, but has a shocking record on the dead track and is a late mail selection!!!! Fingers crossed.

3 bikie blow-ins to our pub walked in and stated 'need a win' and had a 3 box tri off the top of their head and collected with the winner paying $40, about $5k. ....went home after that effort. I just was just totally gob smacked [half their luck].

Not an easy race to rate Mr Ed,,using E%*$#+ F@$# as a guide for there last runs and then using my ratings ,,i have Brandy Snap on top (high points cause of the Jock and Trainer) closely followed by the top weight...i havent Topdworlds video of his last run but hes definetly a distance improver (with the toppy) and from a well respected stable...also like the breed ..
I'll be concentrating on these 3 for alittle fun with some multis..
Good Luck Ed,

I dont have much tomorrow..a bit gun shy after today...
I'll look at Appelby at Rocky who i think is right in this race at the distance,,i'll also have a look at Mr Eds horse Topdworld :)

I wouldn't normally be worrying too much about this race, but I agree with Mav. I think 1, 2 & 6 are the best chances. If you backed Top D'World last time, there's no reason not to follow up. I think he's a strong chance.

For what it's worth, here's what my ratings came up with:

1 . CALL A FRIEND . 88 . $2.90
2 . BRANDY NAP . 63 . $4.00
6 . TOP D'WORLD . 63 . $4.00
3 . DARK INTENT . 30 . $8.30
----------
4 . SIR ASHLEY . 10 . $25.00
5 . THE BREWSTER . 10 . $25.00
----------
10 . ARMIDAN . 5 . $50.00
9 . BUTTERFLY JUNGLE . 3 . $100.00
