Hey guys,
Well done XPT with your advice RE Garidar running a cheeky race. !3 dollars for the place, would have added value to multis for anyone who followed your advice.
What i wanted to ask was, is Lions Gate still racing. I just watched the 2004 Derby replay on TVN where Lions Gate led them up. I don;t recall hearing much/anything about this horse for ages.
Thanks,
TS
Gday TS,
By the looks of it theres been a few changes. Currently owned by swetten stud and not sure if they've had it long. It was trained by mcevoy but now with david hayes. Hasnt raced since may this year and only a guess but would expect to see it back on the track shortly.
Certainly didnt live up to expectations last prep.......

Tomorrows racing..
Port M
Patric is racing again (might be scratched)..this is way harder race ..especially with Strategic Prince involved...i'm not confident enough to take on the toppy and if i get a price will probably end up backing it instead..
Warrick Farm
*Swarthy,,,this well bred dissapointment is racing at a distance that suits..should be fit enough for this race..doesnt have to beat much here .
Matador and Langfibian are also in the stable..
Townsville
*Captain wheeland...this horse can fly ..should take the next step ..guessing we'll be seeing this horse in Brissie before to long..
like a few tomorrow...would be nice to string a couple of winnning days together..
Good luck Luv2 on Sunday....i'll be on :)

I read the form guide and tipping for some Melbourne races. They also have best bet and double.
I know what best bet means (best bet for the card), but what does double mean?

<!-- / message -->
I believe there is two meanings to the term double.......
*1...... To pick the winner in two races at the same meet.. or.....
*2...... If you lose in the first race, DOUBLE your bet on the next!!!

Gday w
thats the thing with the way I do the ratings... Langfibian has been goin well up this way, won its last 2 in open and cl 5 company, it jumped from a Cl5 win to open... BUT it only beat 3 in the Open... My ratings really dont take class movements into account... So looking at the form a bit deeper, last time it went to Sydney, it raced in an Identical type of race and finished midfield.. IMHO you would want fair odds to back it
yeah 4/4 at Port... but it is my home track :) The harder races are coming up

Good Onya XPT, your having a big one at Port. Put this one in your "black book", my brother put me onto it, all you do is back horse 14 but must start from barrier 14 as per the lists.
Check the result on race 3 at Twonsville. I think this is the 3rd long price winner with that system in the last 7 days.
I had a very small bet on it 2 x 3 collect over $100
Good luck to all.

Hey guys, it's been a while have been flat out with work. Looks as if you've all been backing plenty of winners, good to see.
Just remembered the forum last night after seeing my girl OPIO MISS finally starting to fulfil some of her potential and thought i'd get on and have a dip.
Anyway today at Mornington there's a maiden a think can win, Rc 2 No 11 Inchcape has been racing quite well in harder races then this, is much fitter now for two runs in and looks perfectly suited by the barrier. I think she looks an outstanding e/w hope.
Good luck today guys, hope we all can out with plenty. Sportz you'll be glad to know i've backed BLUE COLLAR JACK every start this prep, gee he's racing well, must be a small chance aswell today you'd think.
Cheers ED

My thoughts around adelaide.
Race 1- Not a good race for a bet. If meriwether is right should bolt it in, but the odds are ridiculous. Chilli stoush is the one that could win but wouldnt be prepared to bet against the toppy with lecky on board and the claim.
Race 2- Ill be looking for some value here and going for wyndam power. Can race very well fresh and hayes would have him ready. There looks to be no value around the top 2, so hopefully they come for these and we get nice e/w odds. Starhere is a master over this distance and will be hard to beat.
Race 3- Ill be all over thorton here. A lot to like about his last run where he was doing the best work at the line, extra 100m here suits. Good trifecta race here, ill include wavefront, who was beaten that far last start when the rider lost his whip, arondan, who got in all sorts of trouble in the same race and elmessiah who mixes form but certainly is capable.
Race 4- Going with charmed indeed and ubetibite here. Pretty open race with a lot of chance so should get some value. Charmed was finishing strongly over 1200 behind tivation so should thrive on the 1400 while ubetibite made a lot of ground in the same race. will work around these 2.
Race 5- Will have a crack at reannag here. Has first up form, has been racing in better company, and if he is right will give this a good shake at e/w odds. Dangers would be umaquest and pranceloit.
Race 6- prepared to risk the toppy here and going with leaders pride. Pretty keen here in what is a tough race. Forget its last run never in it, back to a more suitable distance today and should race well
Race 7-confident of open cut continuing on its winning ways here. Barrier shouoldnt bother it too much and will be hard to beat . Include Rosden, rally and nikalapko for the multiples.
Race 8- Will be sticking with major league here, was on him last start and no reason to be jumping off now. Last 2 runs have been very good should be hard to run down
Good luck to all 2day...

Out of all the races today, this was probably the one that I was keenest on. I was very confident of getting the trifecta and first 4. Anyway, it makes me wonder why I couldn't just cut out all the other losing bets that i'm not so confident about and simply back this one. Stupid really. I'm going to end up betting on about 15 races today when I probably should have cut it down much more than that. How many races do you guys bet on?

Now you have confused me.. I always throw the horses that U bold into my betting.. they seem to go pretty well .. I was sure that u said the bolding ( and I think some even get an * ) implied good thing sort of rating (my words not yours) Am I wrong? Or have U changed the way you do things?
Sportz
12th November 2005, 05:56 PM
XPT,
Sorry for the confusion. The ones in bold are the single horses (or in some races 2 horses) that are my best win or each way bets. What I was talking about was that this race as a whole was the one where I was most confident about getting the quinella, any2, trifecta, first4 etc. In other words, I was VERY confident that one of my top 4 selections would win the race and that I'd have the first 4 placings in my selections.
In any case, I should have made things clearer which races I was most confident about. In future, I'll mark them very clearly.

Shocking day here sportz. 13bets 2 wins 11 losses suffered from a complete loss of rationality and chassed a couple of losses. Must have left the brain in bed i think, the two wins only paid $1.85 and one was 100e/w on a country girl which paid $2 the place.
I guess u can only learn from these types of day.

There were some funny results today.
Sure was it seemed a day for people that go with the names or there fav numbers. I had 4 2nds and 2 3rds so im not too dissapointed as im still consistantly there abouts in the placings. With a lil bit of luck it would have been a much more profitable day but thats racing.
Now i just have too keep reminding myself to increase the amount i bet on the dogs as i have much more luck with them. Sometimes having streaks of up to 8 wins on the trot which has never ever happended with the horses. Why is it though i wont sneeze at putting up to 300 on a horse but poo myself having 50 on a dog???? Doesnt make sense but after the last few days i think things will change.
I noticed you were also thereabouts with your selections and with a bit of luck it would have been a different story completely.
Best of luck tomorrow everbody!!!!!!

XPT,
Here's an example of what I'm talking about.
These were the races that I considered the best betting races today ("A" races):
ROSE R2, R3, R6 & R8,
SAND R4 & R9,
ASCOT R5 & R7,
And these were the races I classed as next best ("B" races):
ROSE R4, R5 & R7,
SAND R3 & R8,
DOOM R5,
ASCOT R4 & R8.
Now, as it is, I concentrate most of my betting on the "A" races, but if I had simply ignored the other races completely, I would have finished comfortably in front today. It's much easier said than done though to cut your betting down to just 8 races on a Saturday.
How on earth do you manage betting on so many races???
Anyway, as I write, I've just picked up a nice little result at Ascot, so after a poor start, things are looking okay. :)

I liked Wire Detonator at Perth... ah well... It was at E/W odds so no damage done
As for cutting down.. you know my theory... Ya need to have a paddle in the water to do any good... I will come out in front today, but Melbourne was pretty damn hard... A couple of nice place getters helped out there along with a couple of winners... but we were heading out backwards prior to the last... that is what I mean by a paddle in the water.. I managed to jag 20/1 the place to save the day... My Thornbird in Perth helped later on as well... I know that it is conventional wisdom/thinking to have as few bets as possible, it's just I'm not conventional....
I missed your q about betting so many races... I am no snob... if the value is there I will have a dip ... the 100 ya might win on a maiden at Albury buys the same as the 100 you might win on a Cox Plate...

Nah not really
Betfair only bets on the Metros and a couple of others, plus NSW TAB.. surprisingly with the longer priced horses you are better off (on the whole) with the TABS.. ( it is easier to place a bet with the TAB (E/W) as well) I bet under 5$ (4/1) WIN only (10 Units).. and if they are E/W odds i bet 4 units win and 6 units place ( a unit is dependant on the size of the bank :) so that varies).. the place bet becomes the main bet I guess..
For me to back horses under 4/1 I have to be pretty sure about them, otherwise I leave em alone... So I am not as busy as you would imagine...

Am I right that you don't take quinellas, trifectas, first 4s, etc. That probably makes it much easier to keep track of all the races and not go completely mad. :)

I like quinellas and take a lot of those... I take tris when it is a Country Cup or that sort of race... and the market is pretty wide.. ( had a couple of excellent results recently) and cast the net pretty wide... But I am mainly a win place Bettor... I think it is the simplest and most effective bet availabe...

Should of seen my start yesterday..
Strawbery Malt , Hungry Mile, Catfish , Parameter ..
i was thinking i could retire at the end of the day rolling in cash..
well i didnt quite work out that way...bought back to earth with
0 for 3 in Melbourne , 0 for 1 in Sydney , 0 for 1 in Adelaide,
Had Scenic Shot at Ascot and then Chevron Island at the coast and a good place divie on Gordo finished the day off well..
HAd great result with Chevron Iland's race as Star echolon and Sydney George are boths in the stable as well....
Jagged a couple of good tris in brissie and a good 1st4 ..
Put the time in this week after probably getting alittle cocky of late ..it paid dividends ..
what a finish to the week,,thursday , friday and then Staurday after going through a rough patch..
Today i have in the stable
*Helter Skelter at the S/C
*Intadane and *Nasrullah queen at Newcastle
*Satin Saint at Penola..
lifes a bounty and Mery Pierce are also in the stable...but i'll be looking at just the four today...
Good Luck,,,
ps good to see you back Mr Ed ...

Quiet in here today...
had a win today ...weird i had the 4 bets ..only the one winner Helter Skelter at a short price but the tri paid a heaps...probably wouldnt of been on if i was sitting at the computer at that price..but put my bets on earlier and had a bit of RNR after working pretty hard this week,,
the other 3 didnt even place ..havent seen the video yet but will alittle later..
lady luck is with me at the moment..
missed Desktop magic today after being on of late..little ****ed about that..
What about Bomber Bill yesterday ?? this is one of my fav horses but i jumped off him yesterday as i just wasnt sure of the new trainer...
just keeps on keeping on the old fella...
Hope you guys had a goodn :)

sorry about Inchcape guys, (if anyone backed it), was no match for the winner. Still a very good run after getting shuffled right back it really got home well, definately one to watch the replay of and blackbook because in similar class over a bit more distance she's not far from a win at all.
Yeh Sportz i actually think Jack was a bit stiff yesterday, he's a big gross horse who can sustain a long run, he can't really accelerate that quickly, if he had a clear run i'm pretty sure he would have won.
Good to see you're still killing it Mav.

This is a random post but does anyone think the trainer of Cold Start could bring it to melbourne and bring that gun lass R. Mason with it? She rates that horse perfectly in front. I am not saying CS is a world beater but i have been on him all prep and and it has become one of my favourite horses. The staying ranks arn;t all that strong and at a circuit like Mooney Valley if mason pinched one of those gaps on them i don't reckon they would catch him. I am not sure whether it would be economically viable, he may not be classy enough and there may not be any suitable races but still every time i watch i just see valley written all over.

14th November 2005, 10:23 PM
I agree TS..he's in such good form that it would be tempting to find him something abit more than the ordinary money around here..
Maybe they could journey around like Precise Timing and follow the country cup circuit ..some of the staying races in Sydney of late he'd have a chance and he'd be running the same way....
my guess is they rest him and maybe even follow a cups prep in Brissie..
you can't knock winning form..
nothing for me tomorrow..
only horse in the stable running is Tara's Song up North,, ...but just doesnt rate high enough for me to be overly confident..
wednesday is looking good..a favourite horse of mine Master Dennis is racing...

15th November 2005, 09:43 AM
He is one of my personal favourites too mav. He has the making of a good horse i think Master D as i call him. But a couple of weeks ago i was watching the Todays Racing Tonight show on SKY and saw the replay of Master D give a bunch of horses a galloping lesson but it looked as though he pulled up really quickly after passing the winning post on that occasion. I couldn't really have a good look because they chop the race off immediately after it's won on that show so i didn't know. I thought he may have damaged something after the race but if he is engaged on wed then I am a happy man.

Horses i'll be looking at tomorrow
Doomben
*Delamby ..been on his last few runs and they've all been good..gets his chance tomorrow...claim helps
*Starlactic..not an easy race this..last run was better than it reads..and Ric with the claim is in hot form..would want some odds to be on...
*Seven Crownies...i like this horse and have been waiting for his return..Showed hes returned in fine form with a close up 3rd to Miss Glamour Puss over the to short distance last start..gets to 1600m here..Claim helps..
*Master Dennis...Horse can fly..i've never seen a horse win so easily in his last 2 runs...wont jump on anything short but if they gamble with him i'll be on..
*Moonbi Nymph...ran on evenly last start..this looks easier ..if the jock rides cold and saves her for the big finish she's got she'll be right in it...might get descent e/w odds aswell..
Looks like Brissie will keep me busy tomorrow..i do like a few in Ballarat
*tristo, *True Corser, *Lord Breamer
would like to be at the track to see how Cathy Come Home looks..ran some handy races for me last prep but this might be too tuff first up...thought Oak Park Shannon could sneak a place with the light weight..
in Sydney the 2 montes look good and Hipster Doofus..
confident about Seven Crownies, True Corser , Dell Amby and Master D..
Good Luck All :)

Well done Stix ...nice result..
Pay to be careful at Doomben today...got alot of rain last nite..weird as i'm alittle south and missed it...Still like Seven Crownies and MAster Denis..
think it will be hard for the backmarkers to win with that rail position..
Moonbi can lead but from the bad barrier at this distance and with every other trying to lead it will be to hard for her..
Tristo, Lord Bramer , True Corser and Hipster Doofus are others in the stable today..
Having alittle on Rotoga in a very open race in Adelaide in a minute,,

She did indeed. Dont like it when she leads though. At least got to set her own pace. Jeff knows what he is doing with her.
And I was. Was lurking. Sorry. Was thinking about commenting but was also trying to hear the commentary on TV. But after a third behind Wild Queen and Force Apollo, I guess I was a little surprised at the $3.90 for the place on the NSWTab. That was by no means a slow run 1300. LOL i live in NZ and I never bet in NZ or on NZ races..it sucks imo...w924
I don't bet there either....... just noticed the tips on the website are very very poor..... another reason to stay away.
I think his name is Jack Petley and he does tips for all the NZ races at all tracksThanks Sportz. Jack's strike rate is not real good. Seems anythig between 10-1 and 60-1 beats his tips...... so maybe he helps by narrowing it down for anyone having a go in NZ..... by not backing those he has tipped.... :D

Hi Sportz:
Got any tips for Cranbourne or Coffs Harbour today?

Not really. I'm sort of experimenting with a new strategy at the moment and not sure how it will go. That's why I didn't post any tips yesterday as I usually do on a Wednesday.
For what it's worth, I think 5-8 Evilweb at Cranbourne could be good. Doesn't look like much value though. And in race 8 at Cranboune, I think 1 & 2 cood be good value. I'd be looking at perhaps 1,2,10,8 - 4,6 in that race.

Certainly wasn't any value!!!
Meanwhile in Coffs Harbour Race 8, I was thinking about 3,6,1,7 - 2,5.

Sportz, others,
I haven't seen a lot here on the forum about the paddock inspection of a horse before a race. What do you think of the following:
Looking at a horses physicality and attitude is the last thing you visibly can see before the horse actually runs the race. The form only gives you what the horse has done in the past, looking at the physicality and mentality today can give you tips on how he will run today. The day your actually wagering on the horse. Horses are not machines and their form can be good or bad at any given time.
How many of you have pets? Cats, Dogs or maybe some other animal. Can you tell by their actions when they are mad, happy, not feeling well or feeling great?
The Walk:
Horses that have good and proper extension will always have the rear hoof print exceed the front hoof print when they walk. Watch the front hoof print and see if the back hoof print exceeds (goes over) the print left by the front.
If it does not, the horse could have an extension problem or soreness. You find alot of these types in the lower level claiming races but I have seen this in grade 1's before to.
If they are walking properly they are said to be "walking well"
If they are not walking properly they are said to be "walking short"
This is best seen when they are walking the paddock before the race.
Walking the paddock:
When a horse walks in the paddock with the groom, the horse should walk with his head towards the groom. If the horse is walking looking around repeatedly and not paying attention to the grooms lead that is not a good sign of focusing on todays race.
Saddling:
Beware of horses that are getting saddled with an attitude. The horse should accept that the saddle is being put on and be still. Horses that try to refuse the saddle are not good bets as they are displaying the unwillingness to get ready to race. Lost In The Fog did this saturday when getting saddled at the breeders cup if any of you saw this.
Fractious Horses:
Horses that are just plain wild in the paddock or the post parade. They show no interest in racing today and burn a ton of energy while doing this. Fractious horses refuse any command by the jockey or the outrider and are trying to break away. Not a good sign of willingness to race today.
Coat of a horse:
The coat of a horse should radiate the sun. You can see the rich, deep color of the horse. This is a sign of healthiness. Horses with healthy coats will look as if they were sprayed with a clear coat. Horses with bad coats will soak the sun up.
Sweating:
Depending on the day watch for horses that are real wet. On hot days you would expect a horse to be a little sweaty but not washed out. Washed out is a term used when a horse is drenched in sweat. Watch for horses sweating on cold days. This is not a good sign at all. On the other side, watch for horses that are pretty dry on hot days. Kidney sweat is the white foamy substance between the horses hind quarters. Its not uncommon for horses to have kidney sweat but on occasion you will see them dripping the kidney sweat down their legs. Again not a good sign. In the paddock area watch for horses that have alot of sweat. The horse hasnt done anything yet so they should not be sweating in the paddock. If you ever see a horse sweating in the pits of the front legs, stay away from that horse like he has the plague. This area is the hardest for a horse to sweat in and you almost never see them sweat there.
Linaments:
Watch for sore horses. You will see horses on occasion with dark spots on the front chest area or the rump area. This is where the trainer has applied linament to a horse who is stiff in those areas or is just sore.
Dappling:
Dappling has to do with the coat. In the rump area generally you will see little circles as if they are coming up through the horses coat. This shows supreme healthiness. A word of caution is that grey horses almost always look like they are dappled. They are not always dappled I assure you, so look closely.
Tails:
The tail should be off the rump completely. It does not have to be sticking straight out from the horse but it does have to have separation. Horses that repeatedly swish their tails east and west show nervousness. Unless the paddock or track is infested with gnats they shouldnt be swatting at anything repeatedly. This shows nervousness in a horse. Arlington Park seems to be the only track where multiple horses every race swish their tails repeatedly. I have never been to Arlington but after seeing this for many years I may have to bring the raid when I do.
Ears:
Ears should be pricked forward. This shows interest. Horses that continually have their ears pricked forward without alot of movement will win majority of the races period. Horses that have their ears pricked forward with no movement do not happen often but I can show you 4 that I wagered on in the last 2 days with 3 winning and the other running second. Golden Rahy was one of them in race 7 at Santa Anita on sunday.
Ears that are pinned show unwillingness in a horse. The horse is mad, not feeling well but for sure has no interest in running today. Stay away from these animals.
Necks:
The neck should be bowed, almost as if he is holding an apple at his throat and holding it with his chin.
Horses that hold their head high, as if always trying to look over a fence, will most often start climbing at some point in the race.
You wont find all these positive or negative attributes in every horse race. Horses do win that are washy, just not very often. Horses do win when they are walking short, just not very often. You will be money ahead if you select on paper and play the horses that have good healthy attributes. Physicality and mentality go hand in hand. A horse that looks good with a bad attitude will not be a good choice. A horse with some of the bad physicality traits and a good attitude will run better than the latter. Be very wary of the horse that has good physicality and a good mental outlook today. Regardless if you liked the horse on paper he will run good today.
I'd appreciate your comments.
Regards,
Glenn

Good post Glen,,i agree with all of it..
must admit i'm alittle forgiving in the sprints if a horse is alittle sweated up and if they are on their toes looking around ...means they are just bursting at the seams ...especially first up,,
I won't have a large bet on a horse unless i can see it in the flesh beforehand..
Good day so far for me ..1 for 2 ...nice collect on Sandy Shore but a loss on Magique Mine ..still have Miss Celia later on tonight ...might even get e/w odds about her..will mean i either win today or a break even .. ..
on a 6 day winning streak at the moment ,,nice when you can string a few together :)

Top post Glen. Really good. I have been looking for something just like what you have done as a rough guide. I am getting more and more interesten in the physical characteristics of horses and love the mounting yard. Also i go to the sales and like to be able to judge horses on their appearance aswell as times and galloping style. I am only 19, and question is not If i buy a horse but when. Hopefully the next couple of years.
Thanks for the info,

I wonder what you would have made of the English horse they sent over for the Melb. Cup a couple of years ago that lifted his near hind leg like he had just stepped in dog droppings? lol

PS. Glen you could also throw bandages into that mix as well.
ie:Bandaged on the rear OK as a rule
Bandaged on the front means a problem of some kind as a rule.

Well, they're aiming it at the Barnes Plate this week and then possibly the Queensland Cup the week after.

grrrr another 2nd
1 win (Sandy Shore) 2 2nds Magique Mine and Miss Celia to go with my 2 2nds yesterday...frustrating ..
Have to mention Mr Kiseki whos' racing tomorrow..last time i said if he cant win this race they should take him to the picnics..well hes almost there ..racing in Mackay now...
last start was fav ..mainly because Robbo was on and he knuckled at the start and almost lost the jock and pulled up sore,,,,,,must be ok if hes racing tomorrow and has the ability to win this...
i'm a sucker for the underdog so i'll be on ..
also have in the stable *Classy Planet, *Gilded Youth *Mr Ponsford..
Good Luck all :)

Shhh lets keep it between just us Sportz...might get a price :)
worried alittle about the wide barrier but great run last start and will be improved by it.
usually runs on from the back but has been up on the pace of late....from the barrier has the option of taking a sit if he cant get to the lead ,,
Statice is the one i'm scared about but mixes his form to much for me..
and do they have running water at Mackay yet ??? ;)
wonder if Mr Kiseki will turn out like Grand Marnier and Lair where i practically will it over the line eventually...

Yeah. It's called "rain". :D
And putting on a race meeting is usually a sure fire way to break a drought up here.
By the way, Mr Kiseki has gone to Wayne Pomfrett and he's often quite good at getting losing or unlucky horses from the south and turning them into winners up here.

If Sonic Royal is 90% fit he'll kill them in the last tonight. Very, very smart horse who's been freshened since 2 dissapointing runs on bog tracks. Gets back on a good track tonight which suits amicably. He has a top jock on, from barrier 1 will get a good run (probably prefer him in 5 or 6 as he does like clear galloping room) and is racing some pretty ordinary horses. He relishes the short straight at cranbourne so the valley looks ideal, the way he races is he peels out gets into plenty of room with 500 or so to go hits the lead just around the bend and races away to win by 5 (hopefully).
Really think he's a listed class horse and the lot he's racing are pretty much open country class. Having a very large wager on him, (of course only if his physical and mental attributes are right, good post glenn).

No Stix, nothing against you. Good tip.
I missed the whole race, because it just didn't take my fancy. But when I saw your tip, I looked at the race and using my new formula, I worked out the trifecta chances were 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 12. I would have got the trifecta if I had taken one. A little frustrating when that happens.

Agree with you on Sonic Royal. If you just look at his last two runs, his form doesn't look much, but they were both on heavy tracks. Providing it remains dry tonight, then I think he's a top chance.

That was her first start at Kembla no? 3rd to Betta Lass. She had a tendancy to hang out back then. At one point in that race, she was as good as in the car park, but then straightened her head and hit the "accelerator". Had to get her to stop the hard way, as blinkers would have taken all the attitude out of her runs. She has to see the other horses as she is going past them. I actually had a good laugh myself today. Read this story on rationalize, and how well he is going, yada yada, only loss a 3rd behind Lady Frisco. Gai has only beaten her twice. 1st time she got boxed in in the straight behind Anwaar, second time, she had no hope of catching Wild Queen. But both trainers were trained by the same person. :D

looks like a tough day at the office..
only got future funds over the line today for a tiny profit..thanks to a nice trifecta.
have a couple for tomorrow,,
Townsville
*Sea Counsel
Scone
*Dan City
Sale
*Beach Box
Not super confident tomorrow..but i'm supersticious so i don't want to stop the run of wins...keep riding the wave till it crashes so to speak,, :)
good luck all.

Hopefully theres some odds about snip'n'sea in race 5 at townsville. Its been around the mark its last couple, has a good record at track and distance and should be very close to peak fitness, ready for another win.
Good luck to all.

3rd, since no damage done there might have a go on catequil inthe next at scone. Should be around the mark in this company. Red violet the only danger imo.

Well the run is over..knew it would be today..
*Sea Counsel..(2nd) actually shorter than i expected and heard was very unlucky,,
*Dan City..(2nd) beaten by a nostril..
*Beach Box.. (3rd) good run at nice odds..nice place collect...
30% loss today...all because of a nostril hair and Sea Counsel not getting out till it was all over..
what bugs me is the 2 horses that won Rejected and Lunch at Frisco's were both rated a close 2nd...couldn't beleive the odds about Rejected ..
oh well ..can't win them all..
Hope you guys had more luck than i.. :)

Was buffeted in the straight and would of won, if the horse in side it hadn't of ducked out....... oh well that's racing (but it shouldn't be !! lol !)
Always tomorrow Mav

WAVE ROCK ASCOT R5 No.14
Drawn a little wide, but has shown some promise. Finshed on well last start and 1600m should suit.
CALIFORNIA LUCK BALLARAT R3 No.3
Won well at Cranbourne last start and has in form Callow on board. I note Lemon Bitters is also in this race - should appreciate class drop.
MY MAN FRIDAY BALLARAT R7 No.4
Is a very honest horse, has one at track and keeps giving another great 1x2 proposition
FLURO FEVER CANTERBURY R6 No.5
Can see him breaking his "1200m" maiden here... bit easier here too I think. Has McLellan here and has saddle has been a merry-go-round.... maybe he's the one?

*Sin trial ,*Meanma , *Cavmac
Ballarat
*Penworthan, *El Zahia
Ipswich
*Eminence Grand, *Seven Crownies
Port Lincon
*Jacky Shu Fly (another one of my projects,,18 starts no wins..needs my help :) )
Confident in Ipswich....would want some value about the rest.
Good luck all

Good old seven crownies going around again tommorrow. What's the bet he'll be real short this time - LOL. Also have Eminence Grand written here so i don't know if that inspires confidence. Will prolly run a shocker now.
Best of luck tommorrow Mav, hope it's a good one for us all.

A couple:
Race 2 - 1 Tarzi - Seemed like he was just batting away behind the winner last start, and the form around Exclusivity is quite good but he has been one of my favourites for a while and now he has struck a bit of form i am sticking with
Race 6 - 6 World Exclusive / 7,2,1
Race 8 - 2 Tempo / 5, 6, 8
That is all.

For the shorts backers,
Canterbury Race 2 - 1 Bahia.
Can't see this losing, in fact will give these a galloping lesson. Might go a multi-bet with the above and Seven crownies in the last at Ippy.
ALSO, just noticed Lemon Bitters in the 3rd race at Ballerat. Ran 4th to Serenade rose, and a good 4th at that, if Serenade rose was in this field she would be 1.04. There are raps on a lot of horses in the race which means good odds may be available. Discard this smart horse at your peril.
Good Luck.
