Captain Whelands biggest test to date..can he do it from that barrier ?? will they try and take a sit on him ?? theres alot of speed inside him and it could be suicide to try and lead..interesting race..
even i'm to chicken to take him on but will have some fun with a few multis..
My Salladin and Enzeel both interest me ...go the field for 3rd and 4th as theres a stack of runners that can jag places in this..
Mr ed
11th July 2006, 12:05 AM
Sunrise Song looks a top value chance in the last @ Warnambool tommorow.
Last start was just terribly unlucky at Werribee, where they absolutely walked in front on a dynamite leaders track and he was jagged back to last from a wide gate. He had some trouble getting clear in the short straight but once out really lengthened nicely, it was a top run. His form this prep has been solid, fourth up now and stepping to his right distance (2000m, winner course and distance by 3.3lengths) with a lot more speed on in the big field, he should be at his top. Bit of give nice but can handle any surface.
He is dropping from a c4 to a c3 tommorow, (however, 0 horses in the Werribee race were actually fully qualified for the C4), But Shamir(1st) in that race and Jock o' the side (4th) both ran well in a C6 today so the form looks alright. Main dangers look to be Montamigo (solid winner last start, but drawn awkwardly, and Stylish Tempo (Good run in very good showcase race last start), Also Theatrical Dance who's form is just but he grows a leg here. A place chance on a wet track at odds also to the jumper Al Garhood, he's racing well in weaker flat races.
Anyway the race looks top shelf for Sunrise Song, and his odds should be alright, will also play multiples with the others.
Cheers ED

A good day today with Crique and Don Luigi getting up (huge Odds).......had a e/w on My Salladin 4th at odds..would have been nice..
Big day tomorrow..my last 2 Grafton Carnivals have been good to me....
Grafton
Whats The Scoop, Sven, Friscos Vision
in the big one..Sir Breaky/Umatrick .....i think it will be tough to beat Starlactic off the inside but if hes going to be vulnerable at the 1200m on the good track ,,i Think Sir Breaky can get him...the weight turnaround and Robbo helps..paying 3.25 for the place ,,(starlactic 2.20 for the win)
SilknMoney/Dan City/ Forestreno all worth throwing in the mulits..
Eagle farm
Pagan County/Seemaqualo
Miss Glamour Puss, Chevron ISland *, Coquito Rose
Adelaide
MeBwana, Cabernet Now*,,deserves a win and in maiden class should be winning....doubt a price though..but they might gamble with him as hes only a little fella with the big weight...
Sandown
Chiack
Randwick
Prince Of Midnight, Keeping the Faith
A full stake day for me tomorrow...hoping i havent used up all the luck i've been having on Saturdays.
Good Luck all :)

like your 2 tips tomorrow at Brissie Chuck..
Chuck
15th July 2006, 09:20 AM
well mav i've been on Shysu every run this prep so it kinda owes me. I think Maxy Legs should win though, hopefully odds are nice....it was a good last prep and first up here having won 3 from 5 resuming....bearing in mind that 40% of sprinters races are won by horses coming back from spells  great jockey on board, great barrier....i'll be on!
another for sydney is 4-1 Smart Maxie....likes the wet, 2-1-1 in dead and 1-1 on slow so that suits today....won 2 and 2nd 3 times out of 6 on the track...never missed a place on the distance....3-2-0-1 1st up.....its in impressive sprinter, very consistent and great fresh...been hammered in the weights but has trialled very well, two races, two wins...looks ready and 6s are great value
and if the price is right then 6-1 with a chance is in excellent form, 4 from 4 on slow, 4 from 4 at distance, been coming through the grades nicely should win but might be short

A few for today..
Sunny Coast..
Ally Bee,,,,,a real swimmer this horse and should be winning...doubt a price though..great run last start..
Mornington
Master Orielly, Stoneworkz
Grafton
Vienna Rose...should be odds this horse..but does have ability..
Shagny Lover/Kapptive Idea....been jinxing Shagny for the last 4 starts so i'll do it again today...has been close up and is racing well..just needs abit of luck...Kaaptive idea will love the conditions and the long straight the freshn suits and should be at juicy odds..Mr Aristos/In under there the dangers.
Meteorite/frisco Model/Dusty Flyer...Meteorite is a hard horse to ride so Colless on board will help alot..he reminds me abit of Lachlan River as he tends to fight and hang..Colless the only one to handle LAchlan so he might be able to control ths big fella.....hopefully he isnt the silly odds he was last start...
Good Luck all :)

striaght back off the canvas and came up swinging ..
have to love the ggs,
got the place with Stoneworkz...losses on Vienna Rose and Master Oreilly..

I bet he doesn't win next week, because I'll probably be on. When I back his tips they usually lose and when I don't back them, they seem to win. I missed a couple of his big winning longshots earlier in the year. Then, last week, I completely forgot to back Socialist, and this week I had to go away so didn't get a chance to check out the website. :(

Not a great day with only Semi Circle getting up..
Sagamore 3rd..had his chance but the winner RuleByright who did alot wrong showed a very impressive sprint...looks to have a stack of ability..
Carolinas Boy 3rd,,anywhere near his best with that good of a run would have killed this field..obviously passed it....thought Grandway Shogun who raced alittle wide did ok,,looking for a touch longer..
Sharipova 4th or 5thish,,,Dont know why Williams thought staying on the inside was going to help,,,not every race is the slipper Mr Williams...i thought she battled on well considering..
Madam Lush 4th ...fantastic run..was getting excited about her coming down the outside but she ducked in under the whip...if she runs straight she wins...next time me thinks..
1 from 5 ...a loss but only a little..
A few for thursday
Really like the feature in townsville..stack of chances My Sallidin,Shes Decent, Octanee,Elmessiah,Strictly Smart,Treasure the Kwilla, Captain Wheland,Sea Zulu ....only narrowed it down to 8..heaps of value if you like one of these....i liked My Sallidin's run last start when he never had any luck,,,Shes Decent looks to get a good run from the barrier...
i'll be looking these 2 as i think they'll both be good odds...
i'm thinking in a pressure race like this the Captain might be vulnerable the last 50m or so....great multi race...

I've Got:
3 She's Decent - 6 Captain Wheland
2 Treasure The Kwila
4 Elmessiah - 11 Sea Zulu - 5 Premium Dry - 14 Wardsky
The Rest.....
I really like She's Decent and Captain Wheland as well Mav, will have both for win and might go tri 3,6 - 2,3,4,5,6,11 - F * 25% = $35

Good get with Filly of Choice Stix, had a nice collect myself.
Bendigo Today
Race 3 - No.1 Bangazz
Knocking on the door and despite the wide draw should go close to breaking through today.
Race 6 - No.3 Abassi Queen
Been following this filly and is desperately close to breaking through. Last 2 runs in town have been good enough for her to take this out. Drops back from the 2000 to 1400 which is suprising, wet track is no concern, but gate 16 is a worry but should ensure EW odds are on offer. Yendall stays on and i'm prepared to stick with her today.
Race 8 - No.4 King O' The Mill
Fav trainer BMF has this bloke and a very strong win last start and the 2200 suits here. Not expecting any great price but should be winning here.
Race 7 Townsville
Great betting race, and probably best to just look on here!, but if i had to have a crack i'd go with She's Decent, drops 2kg on last run, and draws well. EW chance.

No luck today...really liked Unamico 2nd..
Great race up in Townsville ,,,Didnt end up backing My Salladin as he was wearing hoof pads....never heard of a horse wearing those and winning...
Shes decent just to short...
had a big go at a trifecta and 1st4 but didnt have Sea Zulu on top....had the longshot Qualo star (inside barrier) so i got the hard one..
but had Strictly Smart and She's Decent on top,,,
all in all i should have been on Betfair laying the Captain ,,couldnt believe he was that short considering Sea zulu went straight past him last start and also dropped a stack of weight..
if i was on the ball i should have taken the massive overs about Strictly smart e/w,,
oh well...always tomorrow :)

I rated Strictly Smart highly too Mav, the combo of weight and barrier put me off too much, even more so when their was little support for him blowing out to 40's. Cost me leaving him out of my tri as i had the winner and 2nd.
No doubting he's a very classy customer with a fantastic record though.

Great to see Tycoon Rose win on Sunday,,,,,she really deserved it..
HAve a few for tomorrow i like at Coffs
Sven, Fair Game and Umatick/Friscos Lass..
Thought Umatrick a special if i only knew the jockey ..i expect umatrick will be short...if he is i might have a go at Friscos Lass with the master on board might be better value...good exacta maybe ,, Good timing 3rd..
Sven has been knocking at the door the last 3 ..has got the awkward barrier but he gets back anyway...

Surely #7 ZOOKEEPER, will win race 2 at Mornington today. He scratched elsewhere a day or 2 ago, likely for a better or softer spot.
I only get Coff's Harbour and Hawkesbury today here in the U.S.
I don't see much that interests me at Coff's Harbour today, but if D.R. Beasley actually shows up for a single ride there today in R7 on #1 HAVANA WIND, I would include him in my betting.
At Hawkesbury I like The #1 King FLING, and the #3 Lady Zhivago(NZ) in R1 at Hawkesbury. #7 CRACKUP in R2. #10, Plotted in R3. (D. Beadman) R4 has me picking #3, CANNON, (D. Beadman) and the #4, DAMA DE LAGO. Beadman kills the dividends badly, but he gets very good mounts and just cannot be ignored.
Have a great day.

I kinda wish we only got the first couple of racs here to...Arrowsweep (A former Brissie horse) paid very nicely .....but my only winner of the day..
Backed Donaldson (still running) Circus MAximus (3rd) Val De Roi (still running ,,,picked the wrong roughie in this race)..Keeping the FAith (i have no faith at all.)..Onion 3rd (no bet ,,ran well considering i think he needs it dry)
But a nice 12/1 shot in Arrowsweep makes up for it all....a good day..
I like a few today..
Ipswich (not my fav track)
Shinkicking Cowgirl, Merry Peirce.....(thought Beckinsale if in double figures maybe worth an e/w..ran home strongly last start but harder to do on this track)
Coffs
Irish Loup/Designer Cleo,,,Afleeting Liason, Unamico..
I like the cup..
Victory Charm/Extra Dollars/Concitare/Kilcornian/Frisco Model/Mr Gold Fire/Havana Wind
Havana Wind looks the class but just not sure in the wet...thought Frisco Model a big roughie (20's?) should be on the speed with Cold Start and that might be an advantage that time of the day..especially if he can get that outside rail first....been a good horse for me. as has Victory Charm...i'll be on both if the odds are good..
Good Luck all :)

3rd August 2006, 05:07 PM
A couple of winners today...Designer Cleo (nice exacta) and Merry peirce (nice trifecta)..
thought Unamico ran well for 3rd and nearly got there on Shinkicking Cowgirl...
Lost the cup,,had a big go at the multis..and a small e/w on Frisos Model..thought Mason should have taken that outside lane on Cold Start and would have won.....I gave Mr Gold Fire a chance after a good run in the wet at the Coast and he ran well,,,maybe just a swimmer..
Hope you all had a good one.. :)

Birthday Bash/Panzer....if the odds are good enough i'll have something on both ,,Panzer is racing well,, with JB on board he'll get the best out of him...the weight pull of 3kgs to BB is hard to ignore though...and of course Colless...interesting race,,,,
Noble Gaze around this track will run well..put him your multis...
Canterbury
Lexington Steel...i like this horse,,..lovely stride ,,the freshn suits..might get double figure odss here..
Good Luck All :)[/QUOTE]
A good day today with Rule By Right winning...,,Noble Gaze i knew would run well and he did...he suits this track....I backed Panzer for the win,,,his usual honest race..
Lexington Steel Scratched Wed for thursday instead at Gosford...not an easy race with Tacical Response ,Brain Explosion and Xaar Xaar all rating well...i still like him though....maybe wanting a little bit better surface than todays bog...
Strictly Smart up north at the level weights will be hard to hold out...very honest horse...
My only 2 for thursday...good luck all :)

Big Mick loomed up in the straight but died on his run...not sure what to make of his run ...will watch the video again..(the winner impressive..especially to do that around that goat track)
Opaque Zircom,,,huge run ...was in the carpark the whole way and still managed to finish thereabouts...we'll get better odds next start ..but lets keep it between us ;)

Hey Chuck
I agree. $1.40 is not a price to take about horses - either back something else or stay out.
I don't bet Mondays - except public holidays - but there's a few mildly interesting races tomorrow.
There's quite a nice middle distance maiden at Wang race 2 which looks a good contest between 6 Nearctic Crossing and 7 Royal Spur.
The best bets appear to be Wang Race 9 No.1 Bis Vincere, and Muswellbrook Race 2 No.10 Fur's Aflyin'.
Good luck if you have a bet.

Seems old Philip Stokes worked abit of magic with Pride Of Archway,,,i backed this horse last time up in Darwin where he was wide the whole way and still battled on well..Usually i dont sack a horse unless it gives me reason to...I was to caught up in Plans who i thought in this company a good chance...missed a possible huge collect ...
the 1st4 had me pulling me hair out....
I had Plans/Bad Boys/POA on top but on my 2nd line i had Exalted ego then Jaffa Jonnie and On A jeune on the 3rd line.....
so in my 1st 6 selections i have the 1st 4 but still miss it...and just look at that divie.... :(

A few thoughts on Doomben tomorrow,
Race 1, Lord Westminster,,,no world beater but he did box on well last start in a harder race...
Race 2, Karalee ..jumps well and can take a good posie,,just worry alittle about the distance // Way Of The World .. has been racing against alot harder than this,,i like the drop back in distance and the barrier and Jock
Race 3, I like the toppy who did well last time in a race where they ran some time..Alternate should be winning...(sequablue respect)
Race 4, Nippon bee was very impressive last start but i'll be taking it on tomorrow..i thought Trivo has alot of scope for improvement and the 1660 and the good jock will do wonders....Dream Gal and A Sir LA both should be respected..
RAce 5, Schappelle ,, good solid run last start and i like the look of this horse,,should get a nice price as they'll come for a few here...Shantreuse is interesting but i doubt she;ll start as there some nice mares races this Saturday..
Race 6, ,,,cant bring myself to back Chut even though he rates the highest...Pentup the more sensible bet ,,,i'll be watching
Race 7, I'm a Zoe Lad fan and with only 54 he'll be flying...i'm not a huge fan of Plumb yet but others think different,,,i'll want a price..
RAce 8, I really like this horse Chevron Island,,,has had no luck of late and ridden poorly,,,JB will make a difference but the toppy is good so i'll again will want a price...Cafediclang only won a maiden a couple of starts ago but i like this horse...keep safe..
Best bets,,Alternate, Schappelle, Zoe LAd
Best e/ws...Chevron Island, Trivo
Good Luck all :)

Backed Way of the world, Shappelle,Zoes Lad and got the get out of jail Chevron Island collect in the last...just got there aswell..
Pity Wyong if off as i liked a few there..
Some runners today at Ippy
Tabinga Lass , at start number 1 million..better distance this and will give a good sight..
Marhill...hopefully its a good dead...i like this horse but i dont think this track willk suit it ... i still think a great e/w chance as it looks an ordinary race..
Refs Call...Stewart is on but this is a frontrunner that should be suited here ..will need a price to be tempted
Fighter Pilot...heard good things in work,,,watch betting..
Ballarat..
Efficient ...another maidener ,,heard some mail..
Good Luck all :)

But seriously i think Flemington 7-12 Serenade Rose is a great bet today..ran into a massive heap of trouble last start in the liston...never missed a place at the distance (5:3-1-1) and track is (5:3-1-0)..barriers fine, probably settle just worse of midfield, and depending on how they're coming home should be thereabouts...people think she will only be competitive over longer but she was devestating over the mile last prep, half her wins have come from the mile or shorter. i really don't like OSJ...good wet tracker but i just don't think hes a group 1 winning horse. Zipping looks pretty good, ran home strongly in the memsie and aurie's star...suited to flemington, great on the wet...
Race 5 trifecta - 6 Belmonte - outstanding in brissy last campaign, can sprint well fresh...7 Rubijon looks suited to this type of race, well weighted, likes track and distance, good on wet...11 Caprizzi Strip very consistent type, well down in weight class hasn't changed much...15 Viennetta had a good run in the group 3 last start, down 3 kgs on that good form across the ditch, nicely drawn unbeaten this distance...16 Bird Dancer racing well this year, this is about his distance limit but won 5 times over it, down in weight after a very good run last start should go well.
In Randwick Race 6 Mnemosyne is great value here, shes nevere been good first up but usually very good 2nd start, down in class, shes a favourite of mine i think she'll win this....Primus is too short and untried in the wet so can't have him. Race 7 desert war should win this i think, showed good pace last start and fought on very well even though never goes well first up. good in the wet i think hes good value and is in the running for a 3rd epsom
