Great to hear that Paul (the duck) King rode a treble at Macau recently. That treble takes Paul’s tally to 6 winners for the new season just started.
In the Birthday might back the 2 "legends".
(6) Legend Express for the same reasons as per Chenille Prince and (7) Local Legend who also has a great strike rate and looks well weighted.
Only doubt untried in the wet and sire's (Rory's Jester) offspring have only a 8.2% win strike rate in the wet.

Hate to rain on your parade River Rough but Im predicting the continuation of another winning streak in the same race – Stratazoa! Stratazoa is a winner of 9 of last 11 starts including last 7 in a row, with last 3 wins all at Belmont. Unlike Scenic Assault who races back in the field Stratazoa will either lead or race handy. Hard to see Scenic Assault who is stepping down in distance giving Stratazoa weight and a start and a beating.

Cheda, I thought Durbridge Toy looked a good bet today, too. Wide t'out last and ran home gamely. With the strong pace today I was confident in the run, but what went wrong???
In saying that, Attractions looked well in on weights and measures. Also nice to see My Thornbird return to some form. Can't wait to see him over 2000m!
I have started a site just for fun, called westwinners, where I post my selections.

Hi Aaron welcome to our thread :)
Was good to see My Thornbird returning to a bit of form and agree should go even better over further ground.....hard to believe he hasn't won a race in over a year....last win was the Boulder Cup (Kal) back in Sep 2004 beating Blevvo....Blevvo won the York Cup last Sunday so the form line is still solid.
Some interesting articles under the 'comment' section of your website and as for too few selections / bets.....at the end of the day it's the amount of money in your sky rocket that counts not the number of bets made...good luck with your futher website development.

The last trial heat at Belmont today turned out to be a two-horse war with old-stager Victory Trump just edging out Early Express in the best time of the day. Both horses are lightly raced and are returning from lengthy spells. Victory Trump (28 starts 10 wins / 7 places) last raced back in June 2003. The 9YO was a handy 2/3YO and also won the listed Birthday Stakes as a 4YO. Early Express (22 starts 5 wins / 9 places) last raced back in Oct 2004 when was a beaten fav in the listed Anniversary Cup. His last win was back in Nov 2003 beating Modem in the group II Lee Steere Stakes. Good luck to connections and let’s hope there’s a win or two or three around the corner for both.

Imaginaire was really impressive again. Missed the kick slightly, had to make a sweeping move from last at the corner before reaching the lead and winning easily, thought eased up last bit.
As I mentioned in my earlier post she is bred to be good with sire Fusaichi Pegasus winning a Kentucky Derby and dam Beaux Art winning a WATC Derby and WA Oaks.
A trip east wouldn't surprise me. Since Saturday's race has firmed from 100/1 to 50/1 for the Thousand Guineas and from 50/1 to 30/1 for the Crown Oaks.
The Oaks looks a good target, Imaginaire has a good turn of foot and is sure to stay all day.
Be very surprised if David Edwards is not contemplating taking Imaginaire to Melbourne as she has the potential to measure up to the Vics and others.

Looking at those trial results shaun1993 was surprised to see that Changing Lanes only ran the 2nd fastest time of the day for the 900 metres
The best time of the day was run by an unraced 3YO filly called Orpenchic who obviously (by the winning margin) won her trial easily
Only other start she ran last in a trial at Bunbury in Feb
May be worth following at her first few race starts at the least
Orpenchic is a final acceptor for race 1 tomorrow Mav

That said she IS bred to STAY ALL DAY as you have already stated

Free At Last looks likely to miss a start but fingers crossed
Reports are that Plastered pulled up well after his game fifth behind Makybe Diva in the Turnbull Stakes on Saturday
Plastered’s heart rate was a lot slower then after his Underwood run indicating his fitness levels are getting better all the time
He has been entered in the Yalumba but at this stage it is very likely that his next start will be the Caulfield Cup

Was at the track for these trials Chenille Prince and would you believe the oldtimer Victory Trump looked a lot fitter than the younger Early Express
Others that impressed were Brocky's Ace (heat 3) who finished very strongly down the outside to win with something in reserve, the George Daly trained Behn Scenic (heat 6) who was always travelling well throughout showing great accelaration over the last 200M and Dee Picked (heat 6) who also travelled well throughout and showed similar accelaration over the last bit. Dee Picked in particular looked to have something in reserve at the end of the trial

Have on good authority that Imaginaire accompanied by stable mate Destiny's Day landed in Melbourne earlier this week.

So what race/s are planned for Destiny's Day or just gone as travelling companion?
Main mission Vic Derby currently 40/1 EW WA fixed odds.
Chances of both (like a lot of early 3YO staying races) will depend on the depth of staying talent they encounter.
Imaginaire is bred to stay (as already mentioned on this thread a number of times).
Destiny's Day has run on well both starts and his last start win was full of merit, did not have the best of luck in running. His dad Montjeu won a lot group races between 1600m to 2400m including the French and Irish Derbies. So DD is also bred to stay.

Dont share your confidence re Modem westman, can't see the caulfield track suiting his style of racing but with a bit of luck should run a place.
Depending on the prices tomorrow might dabble on Sky Cuddle or Our Smokin Joe or Calveen - not sure. Like you wouldn't be surprised to see Roman Arch run a good one.

In the lucky last at Belmont today we have The Western Dynamo returning from a spell. This fellow was looking to be a winter sprinting sensation before beaten fav last 2 starts of previous campaign. The concern might be that he is just a winter horse but his wins were too impressive for that imo. Whatever he does today he will no doubt improve on as he progresses through this campaign.

The new look Ascot has been given the green light!
Reported that Perth racing officials were extremely happy with the way the new revamped Ascot track looked after a couple of trials on the new surface last Friday.
There were no complaints about the track being too hard and the times run in the trials, considering the conditions on the morning, suggests that the new surface would be conducive to fast times once racing gets into the summer months.
The Ascot season commences October 29.

Yep should be a great summer carnival westman!
Just love the summer season at Ascot (except for last year  )
The better quality horseflesh, the big races and the carnival atmosphere.
The only meeting I don’t often attend is Perth Cup day itself. It might be ‘Perth’s biggest party’ but if you’re serious about punting on course, the last thing you want is to have to wait in a long queue to get your bets on!
One cup year missed a very nice profit trying to back something on the tote (showing best price) only to get to the window as they jumped!! :(

R6) Priceless Matt, Beyond Dispute, My Thornbird, Ice Magic

I didn't rate Suave Lady in my top 4 on the weekend WAOS been there about in recent starts (backed it past 2 when unplaced! :( ) and not won since June last year! Nice inclusion ;)

Great win by Barely A Moment after travelling 3-deep midfield for most of the journey. Super Kid ran another good race and I think worth following from here on in. Although well beaten Modem will be improved by the run and will better suited on a bigger turning track.

And if you backed either Harvey or Staeck you would have lost on the day!
Don't play the most points that often but when I do normally have a least 2 wagers - best chance imo under $5 and best chance imo over $10 - moderate success to-date.

I’ve added my thoughts re IMAGINAIRE
REWAAYA – brilliant winner only 3 starts big jump in distance but David Hayes is confident she will handle
ISANAMI – great EW value drawn a little wide but has a top jock and goes OK the distance
DOUBTING – trained at Caulfield well drawn and won with authority last start
SERENADE ROSE – Lee Freedman has a big opinion of this filly won last 3 with last 2 over this race distance
IMAGINAIRE – big step up in class but is improving and did win her last start with something in reserve might not be suited by the Caulfield track and David Edwards has indicated the Oaks her main mission if she does well in this her Oaks quote will firm dramatically if you fancy her in this you’d be wise to back her in the Oaks before the thousand is run

I was going to post a request on people's thoughts on Imaginaire. I herd a few noises over that side of the world about this horse. Have backed it the past 2 so I am happy with her form.
Was wondering if the Oaks was her main aim.
Think she should run well, don't know if she can win it - some pretty nice types in there - I think Empress Lily is a big chance with Serenade Rose and Imaginaire the value - The track (BIAS and CONDITION) is going to have a HUGE say in the result.
My early thoughts: (as it did rain pretty heavy last night - Today is overcast and I reckon it might rain again this afternoon or tonight for sure !)
REWAAYA / EMPRESS LILY / SERENADE ROSE
MNEMOSYNE / BEAUTY WATCH / CARRY ON CUTIE
ISANAMI / IMAGINAIRE

These are my selections I just posted on the Thousand Guineas thread

Don't play the most points that often but when I do normally have a least 2 wagers - best chance imo under $5 and best chance imo over $10 - moderate success to-date.
Odds for the shorter commodities are often more generous on the Friday (than the Saturday) so it pays to do your form analysis as early as possible for the weekend

I’ve got just the 1 black booker running tomorrow at Belmont.
Race 7 (1) Accept The Rose had no luck first-up and would have benefited from that outing.

have been a fan of Troy Jackman for some time
looked to have a very bright future some time back doing ok with a riding stint over east
but for some reason hasn't reached the level of success I thought Troy would achieve
anyway news to hand is that troy has been disqualified for 1yr by Singapore stewards
Troy pleaded guilty to 3 charges of agreeing to tip in return for payments
the ban applies to WA racing
bugger!

(4) Tribal Warrior showed ability earlier in career but disappointing of late. Normally goes well fresh, has the services of SJM and firm track will suit. Likely good EW value today.
(5) Our Blitz was narrowly beaten by Let Go Thommo last start and will strip fitter today.
(2) Marri Park Special will be the likely leader from the good draw and very hard to run down.
(1) Cubic Zirconia goes ok fresh and has a win over The Western Dynamo to his credit.
(6) Brave Jester took a while to win his maiden but when he did won 3 in a row including a win this course and distance in good time. Fitter for recent race starts.
(3) Intambu seems to save his best for the provincials where his last couple of runs have been good including a win over Marri Park Special.
(8) Jonina's Empire ran a very good time in his trial. Great battle with the 2nd horse over the last 200 going stride-for-stride with Jonina's Empire just getting up to win on the line.

Have to back IMAGINAIRE EW at the odds being offered but I see this as a lead-up race for her main mission, the Oaks.

Thought i would jump in to see what people were saying about imaginaire. I thought the oaks would be her target, she is bred to stay but she could run a cheeky race i thought in this. Top 6 maybe.

Yeh well i'd reckon she is. There arn;t any really exceptional fillies that you step back from and go gee, she's gonna be unbeatable over distance. Or am i missing something.
Best hope for the oaks for mine is mary marvel.

A reli in NSW has just back IMAGINAIRE EW for me for today (their fixed odds) in the thousand 100/1 and the oaks 50/1 :D
Much better (not surprisingly with the local support) than I can get in WA!

My brother had a part share in Rose Of Naishapur when she raced back in the late 90s. Not a world beater by any stretch of the imagination but he had a lot of fun with her.
She has a daughter racing today in the 1st at Belmont – Creole Spice (by Old Spice).
Just won a maiden at Narrogin and big class rise today but understand staying will be her caper.

Nice work grey sapphire! :)
Main: PRIDE OF SURTEE, OUR SELECTION, CHARMING STORY
Value: FIM LINE
I always look for a 'value' bet once I've settled on my top fancies for a race. Don't have to get up too often to repay the outlay of an extra unit or two!
Worked for you westman!!
