OOPS!! Almost missed Race 3 (13) Metal Dancer who I've posted previously as a BB

Took on the leader Dee Picked for most of the race fought on well to finish 3rd. Will benefit from that run. Winner Homme looks an impressive type.

I’ve got just the 1 black booker running tomorrow at Belmont.
Race 7 (1) Accept The Rose had no luck first-up and would have benefited from that outing.

Strung up for a while in the straight and ran on well when clear finishing 3rd. Will also benefit from the run.

Might get more than 50/1 Oaks now Modem :)

..from an Oaks perspective Benko and Empress Lily put in good runs and wouldn’t write-off Imaginaire who only got into the race late and would have run a good closing sectional

The Gray Bear looked pretty good in winning his first city start and according to the commentator was ridden differently to his normal way of racing!

You DO sound confident TheMail! Personally I thought the rider of HOMME went a bit TOO early but he just kept going to win easily - impressive in the end!

My brother had a part share in Rose Of Naishapur when she raced back in the late 90s. Not a world beater by any stretch of the imagination but he had a lot of fun with her.
She has a daughter racing today in the 1st at Belmont – Creole Spice (by Old Spice).
Just won a maiden at Narrogin and big class rise today but understand staying will be her caper.

Nice run from a class1 woody! Beaten only 1len and was finishing the race off very well! Does your brother own a share?

Now let’s see. If I had boxed your selections for the tri purplepassion I would have a total outlay of (1/2 unit) $96 (actually a little bit less you had a scr) Anyway total outlay $96 return (1/2 divi) $234.30 total profit $138.30 giving a of POT 144% (I think! – it’s a bit early in the morning for the old grey matter cogs to turn).

Bottom line in any case a great result purplepassion! Tip Top ;)

ALIKE is the one to beat. Has a good draw and the Hawkes / Beadman combination is always hard to hold out.

At his best DENMARKET could test ALIKE and represents huge EW value at the moment.

AIRSTREAM is another that represents great EW value and provided he can handle the step back in distance and less roomier track he could surprise.

Think you’ve missed the winner altogether westi - proof will be in the puddin’!

Malwood beat the top weight in this race easily in the Meekatharra Cup and not enough weight turnaround to suggest a different result. Former eastern states galloper Why The Long Face won the Moora Cup in solid fashion and will be fitter for that run. Frappe and Millington Man to fight it out for the minor end of the purse.

Don’t normally bet in early 2YO races but gee I was impressed with the run of Brocky's Ace in her most recent trial. Finished resolutely down the outside to cut down Safety Outlet in what I thought was a very good trial. Safety Outlet might make it the quinella again.

Still two in the field that nobody has mentioned so......I'll take no. 5 Irish Dance ;)

Now that just leaves one :)

The current Melbourne campaign for Free At Last has officially come to an end.

She will return home to tackle a $1 million bonus over the Perth summer carnival.

The $1 Million bonus is for a horse that can win all three designated feature races over the summer carnival i.e. the Fruit "N" Veg Stakes, the Cox Stakes and the Perth Cup.

And you'd have to think she's a genuine chance for that $1 million bonus too!

Great debut by Behn Scenic (Scenic / Aphra Behn) today in the 5th, won with a bit in reserve. Dam Aphra Behn (named after the 17th century playwright and the first English woman to earn a living by writing) had moderate success in the late 90s in Victoria. Started a firm 2ndFav so obviously the win came as no surprise to stable followers.

Yep, as per schedule Modem but there's more riding on Plastered's performance next Sat than maybe originally planned.

Greg Childs is to ride (instead of the pontiff) so connections can get an 'independent' opinion of the horse’s fitness and how he's progressing.

If they're not happy after the run Plastered may miss the big one and run in the Sandown Classic (2400m Nov 12).

Apparently the first meeting for the 2005/06 season for the Geraldton Turf Club was a great success. Big crowd on course and the on course turnover (corresponding meeting last year) was up by over 100%

Must get up there one weekend and check it out!

You should definitely make a point of attending one of their meets Modem. Very laid-back and pleasant atmosphere! And it's not all that far from Perth.

Not sure if more hullabaloo or not but it seems that the pontiff has publicly stated win or lose on Saturday, Plastered will not be fit enough to perform near or at his best in the Melbourne Cup and is concerned re Plastered’s welfare if they push on with a run!?

Think you’ve missed the winner altogether westi - proof will be in the puddin’!

Malwood beat the top weight in this race easily in the Meekatharra Cup and not enough weight turnaround to suggest a different result. Former eastern states galloper Why The Long Face won the Moora Cup in solid fashion and will be fitter for that run. Frappe and Millington Man to fight it out for the minor end of the purse.

Can be messy stuff that puddin’! Perhaps Malwood had too big a helping JUST B4 the race  :)

Going for a bit a value with Rubimaya a maiden with a bit of promise who a couple of starts back pushed Attadale who has since won at Belmont from On Our Metal and Rue The Storm (not much between these two) and seeing it’s the 'get out stakes' chuck in the topweight Mordor.

Mr Celebrity is surprisingly short for a horse who from memory hasn't raced beyond 1600. I know he has exceptional group form and I know Gai's a top trainer but jumping from 1600 to 2400!? Fantastic effort if he can do it!!

WELL what can we say? A fantastic effort to miss the start settle a clear last circle the field from the 600m extremely wide and still finish on their hammer!!

THEN was sensationally scratched after the race with stewards ruling he was not afforded a fair start!!

BUT (wait a minute there's more) he now still needs to qualify for a start in the Melbourne Cup!!!

AND after all that I DIDN'T back the winner! PHEW!!

I intend to heed your advice WayOutWest – she’s had no luck at all 2 starts this time in – lost her rider at Belmont and then according to the steward report missed the start at York and then failed to handle the track!
